Former GTR owner needs help ordering
I would really appreciate some help in configuring a 2015 vette. I have had two GTRs which required no selection of options. What is the ideal vette to order? I want the auto and I am use to the "tuner world" of modifications. Thanks in advance for your time.

Order what YOU want.
Everyone is going to recommend different options.
Things I think that are a must:
2LT Trim - Gets you HUD, heated seats, ventilated seats and a few other options
Z51
FE4 - Magnetic Ride
FAY - Carbon Fiber Dash
Other things to consider:
Competition Seats
Colored Calipers
Everyone is going to recommend different options.

The sport exhaust is another popular option (order code - NPP).

Burning Brakes
TBH, The Stingray I want is as much as the "Base" Z06 and that comes with HUD Standard lol
I might be better off waiting.

Start with the most basic choice-which package do you want your car to come in
1 LT-basic
2LT-most popular options and the sweet spot of choices
3LT-best leather, most leather and leather color has more non black areas
Next choice do you want a Z51 model or not-HP the same but Z51 is more geared to tracking the car.
After these 2 basic choices are made, you can go through the options list and select those that you want.
Obviously these are also the most expensive choices besides the most basic and must be made first as certain options are based upon these choices.

The sport exhaust is standard on the Z51 for 2015.
As far as what to pick for options, its actually pretty simple. Just start the basic choice: Coupe or Convertible, Z51 or non-Z51. Then figure out which trim level you want, LT1, LT2, or LT3. Once you have that, then the remaining choices will be pretty simple.

Since you are coming from a GTR here's what I would suggest:
2LT Z51 (included Sport exhaust (NPP) and all the upgraded creature comforts)
FE4 (Magnetic Ride)
NAV/PDR (Think if it as a $1795 video telemetry system with free Nav thrown in, the Nav sucks but it's locked into the PDR)
A8 (8 speed auto trans)
From there everything else is eye candy, not mechanical. Only you can decide on color or CF options, they cost a lot and add no value to the car so I passed on all of them. The only possible exception would be the competition seats which I would order if you plan on significant track time.

I agree with all that was said above.
But if you are expecting GTR like acceleration, I would recommend waiting for the Zo6 model. I still own my 2010 GTR. The C7 gives a completely different driving experience. More smooth in its approach. Just my 2 cents
1989 Mustang Saleen SSC
1989 Anniversary Turbo Trans Am hardtop
1993 Mustang Cobra teal
1997 Dodge Viper GTS B/W
2010 Nissan GTR
2014 C7 Z51

If you are coming from a GTR I would think that you would want to go with the Z06, it will be closer in performance to what you are used to. Still has a boat load of options, but comes standard with MSR, NPP, and HUD. Also the 8 speed auto is an option in the Z06 Check out the Z06 sub forum and do some searching there, lots of good info, and a bunch of good guys who will be happy to help you out. But for me a Z51 ,MSR, 3lt, black wheels and 7 speed would be the ticket. About the same price as a base Z06, but more civil.

Melting Slicks
Definitely get the Flux Capacitor for excellent burnouts, McFly.
(Seriously, this is a great problem to have. I'd suggest reading the comments here for a few weeks to get a sense of what choices will fit your intended use of the car, then decide.)
