I am still getting a substantial discount and telling me to dump the car that is what I want and start over is foolish. I have dealt with this dealer for many years and if there is some kind of proof of the price protection, he will honor the price. I will not drop a deal over $1,000 and loose a good friend.

I hear what you are saying, if you have proof that he is screwing me please by all means copy me on it.

I find it kinda interesting how there's all these threads about people complaining about dealer switching deals. Then they buy the car anyway because they have a huge hard on for it. I know it's cool, but you have other cars to get around in right? I'd take a walk and find a better deal. GM decided to make another $1k off of you because he thinks you will pay it.

I find it kinda interesting how there's all these people who think the OP would be better off by canceling his order and starting from scratch at the increased price.

Just a thought: Is it possible that you put your order in with the Dealer before the 4th of Aug, but the dealer did not get their order in to GM until after the 4th?

And I did not see where you said you have a piece of paper (order form) dated before the 4th.

As Glen e previously noted, have your dealer produce the ORDER WORKBENCH from his system. It will show whether or not the car was orderd as "sold" with your name on that document and the date it went to Event 2000 or Accepted by GM. It will also show pricing in effect at that time as well as the particulars of the order. Good luck!

It's funny how I ask for some documentation and all I hear from some is walk away. Do you think I did not shop the deal. There are 5 dealers within 100 miles of me and I am still over 2 grand lower than any of them.
Don't forget going to another dealer and I automatically have to pay the grand and a higher price.
I am retired and have much better things to do than start shopping all over for a car that is there already.

I would really hurt the dealer by canceling the deal, he would have to suffer and sell it for at least $4-5,000 more.

Yeah that sure makes a lot of sense. Come on get serious and someone give me something to go back to the dealer with instead of excuse the expression, back seat drivers advise. Just trying to keep it clean

I have an email from a local dealer (top 10) that specifically said in the email that he would honor the $1000 price difference since my order was in before Aug 4th. He's the Sales Mgr.

Short of forwarding that to you I'm not sure how anything else would help.

Thank You

I had a dealer friend of mine in Ohio that would have given me a Teachers discount, but I did not want to use a part time job as a ploy for that discount and it was not that much less

Thank You again

They want more money and Chevy is letting them stick it to you when sales go down wonder who they will stick to.

You are saying they are sticking it to me, do you have any type of documentation. This dealer sold me my last vert $1,500 behind invoice. I do not see him as that type. I am still buying the car at an extremely good price.

Do you have any type of documentation?

Elliott, in all honesty, you came here seeking opinions and advise; as YOU yourself are not trusting the said dealer that you mention you have conducted business for many years. EVERYONE is telling you the same thing over and over, and you have become defensive and contradicting your own beliefs and what you know to be right. As others have stated, IF your car was ordered as a SOLD order WITH your name on the workbench order, then you ARE price protected, and your dealer WILL be reimbursed the difference between the post and pre price increase.

Send me an email. I will send you the "official" GM pricing from both before and after the cutoff and I will send you the letter from GM about the price increase and about price protection.

Can't get any better than this as to the irrefutable proof that Elliott is requesting. You are a class act Dave.
