What new features would you like to see on future C7's?
I was thinking about the features that people like and dislike on C7 and wondered what people would like to see, either standard or as options. Here in no particular order are a few ideas, a couple my own, more that I've seen mentioned by others in past discussions.
1) All-season radial tires as an option for non-Z51 cars.
2) A 1LT with reduced content, say a manual passenger seat and cloth seats rather than leather for people who are mostly going to track their cars.
3) A fixed roof coupe, maybe also in a package with #2 along the lines of the past fixed roof coupes.
4) Side curtain air bags.
5) An unpainted option as was the case many years ago. This could let people do their own custom paint jobs--or perhaps a vinyl wrap.
6) A "comfort seat" option for those who don't like the new GT buckets.
7) Option of displaying smart phone nav on the C7 screen.
8) Hard top convertible.
9) Power hatch pull down as on C6.
10) Factory installed roll bar option for 'vert.
I'm not necessarily a huge supporter for any of these, but wonder what others think of these and what if anything you would add to this list.

Don't want:
It cheapens the brand. Buy a Camero. The Corvette has always had a certain cashet and I would like it to stay that way. Honestly? I'd drop the LT1 base package.
All good ideas. Really like the idea of the hard top vert. And I'm a fat ***, so a wider seat would be ok by me.
I'd like to see all season tires offered as an option on the Z51. It's no secret that the vast majority of even z51s never see a track.
I'd do you one better. Option of iPad mini in place of the screen that included apps to run all the car systems, stereo, 3d party real nav app with audible turn by turn (more than just google maps) etc. Those who wished could add it to their data package and enjoy all the functionality an ipad offers (itunes playlsts, Waze, etc) Those who don't know what a data package is, could skip it.
It is only a matter of time before a car company negotiates a deal with Apple to develop this application for the iPad and It would be great if for once it wasn't Lexus.

The Fixed Roof Coupe was pretty much a failure during the C5s, representing less than 9% of total units (dropping way off in their 2nd year). These were also somewhat de-contented, addressing #2.

I would love to have a true roll bar in my vert that didn't look like an afterthought.

Yes, parking sensors.
Also:
Better quality carpet.
Z51 Brakes that don't require cooling rings.
More customization of displays and HUD.
Allow PDR to transmit over 4G in real time.
A nice polished wheel.
Tow hook.
Real-time updates to Nav.
Remove stick on automatic, its just wasted space.
Two-tone paint.
More color choices, interior and exterior.
Cameras instead of rear view mirrors.
360 degree cameras - recordable.
Interior camera - recordable.
Night vision - displayed on HUD.

It's a small thing and I'm probably the only one that will want this, but my wife's BMW has an electronic dipstick that I absolutely love and I wish it would be incorporated on future Corvettes. I like the idea of being able to check the oil level at any time, on the fly, without having to open the hood and use a rag. To me that just seems so old school, and I love new technology that replaces stuff like that.

I wish GM would have setup up the automatics like the manuals where AFM is only active in ECO mode. I have mine turned off completely but it would be a nice option.

How about a navigation system that works as well as our smart phones. You know, where you type in your address and it takes you there in the least amount of time...versus can't find your address or takes the route that is twice as long.

So far just 2 simple things, both within the realm of reality vs. some of the pie in the sky requests.
1. Better paint quality, it's a premium car, give it a premium finish.
2. Completely rework the MyLink system to increase performance and allow full smartphone app integration. It's not just the Nav that sucks, the entire interface down to the operating system is crap. The UConnect 8.4AN in my Ram truck runs rings around the GM system at half the cost.
