Anybody noticing some exterior parts not aligning correctly?
went to a car show over the weekend and people where comparing there back bumpers. wasn't sure what they where doing so i went over and asked .out of 2 coupes and 3 convertibles everybody had a slight difference the way the back bumper fit to the rear panels.is this normal for corvettes .also we noticed the rear defuser bottom left and bottom right that is held by 3 screws each are not flush .i just loosened the screws moved them a little and looks great now.this is not my first gm so i know i have to go back and do a little tweaking on my own .also the empty space between the rear panels and bumper have a little extra paint in between we where wondering maybe not dry enough when put on.

Mine was a bit off on one side when I purchased it and the dealership did a great job sorting it out and they found a couple of other little spots on the hatch that they also took care of without any issues and it was ready the next day..Not sure how they managed it and I expect as it is on the road for a while other things will move about...as they have for all the other Vettes I've owned.. just the nature of the beast I think..

I'd drive it back to the chevy dealer and tell them to fix it. Miss-alignment issues on a 2014 car is unacceptable. This isn't 1980, there is no excuse; especially considering how much you paid for it.

Gaps are slightly different on rear bumper, I actually didn't notice it the dealer pointed it out saying its adjustable and hard to get exact on both sides.
The front bumper on mine actually touches the quarter panels by the headlights and caused the paint to chip slightly at that seem...dealer is adjusting and repainting my front bumper next week.

While some gaps I've seen on other cars are NOT acceptable, I think many guys look to much into this.
This is a mass produced car, not hand built to be precise on every level. I know my car does not have bad gaps, but they are definitely not 100% perfect. No corvette is. That's how they keep this car a bargain.

GM has been getting by with "its a bargain". At Carlisle I saw so many poor paint jobs, misaligned/poor fitting panels it made my head hurt. These Cars were pushed out the door too fast in order to satisfy the demand. Many of these issues will not be resolved until demand falls off.

Contrary... I believe that much of the panel shift happens during transport or after being driven.
When we took Museum delivery in June, we watched the QC process at the plant and had a chance to speak with one of the workers doing the inspection. I watched as he used the various gap measures along all of the seams and he was very meticulous. He knew of the reports about bad panel alignment and assured me that none of the cars going through his inspection were passing with alignment issues.

My drivers side door appeared not to be closed all the way. Almost a 1/4" gap. I tried to adjust the striker at first with no luck. Called the dealer as I did not notice until I got home.
He first offered to fix it if I brought it back and then told me how to adjust it. Was simple, just loosen the torque bolts on the striker, about 5 turns, then push the bolts in while pushing the striker to a new position. It is spring loaded. Do not remove bolts as then door panel will have to be opened.
Now fit and finish are fine.
