Had to get an automatic, magnetic ride, and no red, yellow or white. Also had to come in under 85k.

None. The Stingray is hers, optioned as she wanted it. She was in line for a replacement for her 9 year old C5, but wanted to wait for the C7 so she let me get my '12 GS and took my '06 Z51 while waiting for the Stingray to be fully baked.

We were originally going to pass on the first year issue, but since they ironed out most of the issues and the timing was right, we ended up placing the order with Mike Furman in March and took Museum delivery in June.

I promised I would keep my GS for three years when she let me have my A&A supercharger installed, and then my plan is to buy an early '17 Z... She keeps telling me that she doesn't believe that I will wait that long, and admits that she is anxious to have the Z side by side with her Stingray.

Love my wife!!!

My wife worries about my health even though it is quite good. She said if you lose 20 lbs you can have whatever you want. Took me 36 days, and the Z51 is now on order.

Now the challenge is lose 10 more and I get the Vegas driving school.

My wife is smart and knows what proper motivation is.

None at the time of purchase, HOWEVER, when ever she sees something she wants now, I get the "Well, you got the Corvette!!"

The day I ordered the C7, she ordered a kitchen remodel. She wrote the check for hers, I wrote the check for mine.

The only compromise was she had to have the clear roof on the C7.

I did that when I bought my first Corvette. Got away with it since it was only $3,500. My 2015 will cost a lot more so she is on board this time. Lots more fun to have her be part of the experience.

My wife watched the live C7 'reveal' with me and by that time she knew I had already placed a deposit for one. It was her assumption that the '05 would be sold/traded but as you can see by my avatar that didn't happen... We did do a trip to Europe for our 30th anniversary last September, the same time mine was being built, so if anything the trip was somewhat of an equalizer. I ask her opinion on cars many times but I basically get whatever I want and she's fine with that.

My wife is happy just to see me excited over the purchase. She says "Can't wait until the new C7 is sitting in our garage."
Her one condition was this: since I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year, she said I can buy a Corvette after I lose 40 pounds. That's why I don't have a '14 in my garage but rather a '15 on order. And, yes, I succeeded and my A1C glucose count is down to 6.5. What a woman!

That's a big win on one account and a big "loss" on another. Congrats all around! I'm in the process of losing 35 lbs and promised my wife I won't order mine until I've reached my goal. Guessing that'll be around Xmas. Will be "haunting" Grey Chevrolet till then.....

Same thing here. Wife's 2004 Rav 4 has 220k miles on it.

She does like to ride in the Stingray, but refuses to drive it.

I really love my wife..... 46 years....

My wife's restrictions were
color Crystal red, blue, orange or Yellow
Automatic (thats ok cause I like auto anyways)
must be Z06 she says if your buying a Corvette don't get the one with the wimpy engine (I have never seen anybody talk their way out of speeding tickets like she does)
Minimum 2LT
Performance seats
Can't trade my current corvette in on it.
How about trade my old vette 2001 C5 for down payment on a new car 2013 Buick LaCrosse we got in October 2013 that she got before my C7 Z-51 !!! Its a win win !!!

Dang!

If I'd have thought a little ahead, I could have had a new kitchen, and a NEW CORVETTE!

No Compromise at all she was flat out against me getting the car.

Took her to show her one and see if they had allocations last Sept. She kept saying there is no need for a car like that, its a waist of money and so on. Corvette sales man could not budge her.

Corvette sales man was shocked when two days later I came in with my wife and put a deposit on the car, and my wife was still saying it was a waist of money.

He was more shocked when we picked it up, and she was still saying no need for a car like that, and a waist of money. He asked her then why is he getting it? Her reply, he earns the money, its his money and it makes him happy.

Now she never bats an eye when I buy a motorcycle.

I might lose a pair if I did something like that.
