Default What compromises did you make with your wife to buy a C7?

Was wondering what kind of compromises did other folks have to make before their wife would agree to a C7 purchase?
My wife's restrictions were
color Crystal red, blue, orange or Yellow
Automatic (thats ok cause I like auto anyways)
must be Z06 she says if your buying a Corvette don't get the one with the wimpy engine (I have never seen anybody talk their way out of speeding tickets like she does)
Minimum 2LT
Performance seats
Can't trade my current corvette in on it.

Doesn't sound like you need to make too many compromises there.

My wife just didn't want another red car. Let's try something different for a change.

None as long as she gets to drive it also. Went back and forth on convertible vs coupe, but the storage on the coupe won out. She would prefer the manual so that was as easy decision.

She just didn't want yellow. Past two vettes have been yellow (Millennium Yellow then Velocity yellow). So I went with Laguna Blue.

Cost me new kitchen countertops, new carpeting in several rooms, updated bathroom sink and toilet and something about her wardrobe needs. The C7 was well worth those compromises to me!

First off, it was my wife who initiated the "why don't we buy a C7 to replace the C6." That said, she really hated the Z51 wheels in any color and I wanted black wheels with NRB. I kind of wanted the Z51, but I have no plans to seriously track the car. So we went with a 2LT with the Z51 spoiler, black QX1 wheels and carbon flash badges. Should look sharp and only the Corvette nerds will know it isn't a Z51.

She was actually the one to push for the C7. She called it "sex on wheels" I didn't ask her how she knew that.
In any case, she preferred the A6 but didn't make that a condition (my C6 was an M6) . I obliged since the C7 became our 2nd car rather than our 3rd car (as the C6 was) .

Why don't you grow a pair and buy what you want? I tell my wife when I buy a car afterwards.

A couple days after I totalled my last vette last December we were going out to dinner. As a general point of conversation I asked her if she wanted to remodel the master bath. My wife of 42 years looked me square in the eye and said "You're getting a new vette aren't you?"

I was thinking a 2013 Z or Grand Sport. She insisted I get the "new one"

At the end of the day she knows there are many worse things I could be doing and spending money on.

She's a keeper!

No compromises needed. The wife is as enthusiastic about the new Vette as I am. Beautiful car, beautiful wife ... really great combination.

Had to agree to not buy another old car, after 20 years ,she wanted one with windows, A/C, a radio, a roof that does not leak and most important she would not smell like a gas rag when she got out. So we bought the Vette. The way I figure it, in 4 or 5 years I will sale the Vette and buy the 1956 Porsche 356A that I have in mine.

That's funny, is your wife Danica Patrick?

I'm lucky, I don't compromise or even ask my wife what kind of car I should get.

My wife wanted it to be yellow, have HUD, and have heated / cooled seats. Ended up getting a VY 3LT, and have been very happy with it.

My wife loves her Rav 4. No interest in a Corvette she doesn't care what I buy "as long as I am happy" I can't even get her to even offer an opinion on color...."just get what YOU want. That's your thing" She is not into cars at all
