How much Xpel?
Started thinking about how much Xpel I want to wrap my car in. The wife's Acadia had it done to the front, mirrors and rear bumper, but the prices were much less than what I'm seeing for the Vette.
Anyways, of the list below, what areas are most susceptible to damage? Is the $800 difference for full hood and fenders worth it? These are prices off Xpel's site so actual cost and labor will vary of course.

As much as you can afford!

Had my coupe done yesterday by Clear Advantage in the St. Louis area. Covered the front bumper, full hood (Carbon Flash Stinger), mirrors, rockers and up over the sculptured ridges, rear quarters, spoiler and door sills. Justin does amazing work.

My last 3 Vettes were $1100, 950 and 800. None were expel but Avery Dennison, 3M and 3M. Just curious what others are paying.

Saw a few 14's with xpel. One had the entire car done and the other just the front end. They were parked near a few other Vettes and based on what I saw, think I am going to go with 3M. The xpel cars did not reflect the light very much and looked dull. I saw 2 Vettes at Carlisle with the top of the line 3M and they had a great shine, could not tell the difference from the fresh polish parts from the 3M parts.
Could be my eyes, but I think the 3M looks better..

Entire car done. I got this for three reasons: ease of care, no swirls or road rash, and piece of mind in case people get jealous in Chicago.
Well, last weekend some a-hole tried to key my stingray but ended up just scraping up the xpel on the rear quarter. My installer is going to redo the panel for free, but sure beats a $2k respray of the panel and blending on adjacent panels.
Not sure if you can see it in the picture but it's a 2 foot long key mark that only scratched the xpel not the paint.

You have nice installer redoing it for free wow Did it get any better leaving the car out in the sun?

One area I don't see a whole lot of people putting Xpel on is the roof. I have the exposed carbon fiber roof and on my way home from the dealer, (around 12 miles on the ODO) I took a rock to the roof. I couldn't avoid it but definitely saw it and cringed as I heard it hit the front of the roof. Sure enough there was a gash. Needless to say I had it added to the roof to prevent further damage. It was like another $150 for the roof to be done.

In a related question. Does it make any difference applying the Xpel if you have the OEM racing stripes (vinyl) put on versus having them painted instead? I want the racing stripes but I don't want to have any issues with the Xpel so I'm considering getting them painted on instead.

I had the full front bumper, mirrors, and half hood / half fenders done. This was partways into my return trip from the NCM, and from the bug massacre I witnessed before and after the install, this does well enough for protecting the front forward facing sections of the car. I will say if you don't have or aren't putting on the splash guards I'd recommend something to cover behind the tires as well. I paid about $700 or so for the Xpel install.

Paid $1500 for film (SunTek) per attached sketch (no hood) including Opti-coating entire car plus wheels and calipers. The film saved my paint from rocks from an over-filled dump truck coming the other way a month ago!

One last question about Xpel for my car. It was just built a day ago and in route to Atlanta. I have an appointment set up for the 27th to get Xpel installed. How long does the paint have to cure before Xpel can be installed? I didn't put 2 + 2 together until I realized the car was just painted and probably needs to cure.
