Default My last Corvette

It has been fun and after 6 Corvettes and a bunch of headaches with my first C7. I have decided it time to move on to a German Sports car. I had so many issues with my first Corvette, rear end replaced twice, the front bumper pull off and reset, the dash replaced, More than 40 days in shop within first three months of buying. Told dealer of all my issues when trading in but dealer never said anything about contacting GM or Lemon law complaint. So I bought a LT2 from and LT3. I kow regret doing the deal. I contacted GM and they disputed with me as the original owner of any of my Vettes. After clearing that up, spoke with the executive office. The best they would do is give me a Loyalty certificate. Now the catch is I can only use it once my warranty runs out. So basically keep driving your car you don't like then once you have over 36,000 ,iles and its worth noting come buy a brand new one $8k more than what you paid for something. This is after buy 15 cars over the past 20 years from GM more than $650K spent.

Thanks GM

Forget the German Sports car, get an Austin Healey.

There are a lot of nice cars out there not made by GM. You will find a great and reliable alternative

I am sorry to hear of the misfortune you have had with your car, the dealership, and GM.

I have only owned one non GM car since 1976 and have only had a one problem with one of the cars, and the GM zone office at the time took care of the issue in unbelievable time. I have owned and driven Corvettes over 250,000 miles exclusively for the last seventeen years and have never had one problem with them or the service my dealer has provided me with. Unfortunately it sounds like you have a had a bad experience(s) with you Vette. I am not so sure the grass will be greener on the other side of the fence/pond.

Good luck to you.

Confused, is this your first or second C7?

Why did they say that you were not the original owner of your C7?

If you are having that many problems, I can't blame you for wanting to dump the C7. Hope you find the German cars to be more reliable - not sure that will be the case.

did GM not buy-back your first C7, and now you're having recurring issues with the second C7 ?

or did I not understand what you wrote ?

The Japanese cars I have owned have always been more reliable than any American car or truck I have owned.

8000 miles and the only thing I can even mention is a slight differential whine at exactly 70.

When I say slight I mean most people don't hear it. I can live with the noise.

Great car though sorry your having problems.

I've owned a 911, 928 (purchased used), M3 and S4 (purchased new). All great cars that never gave me any real trouble, but damn when **** happens, repairs and maintenance can be really expensive.

I can understand why you're jaded, but the majority of C7 owners have had zero issues. Hope you're happy with your final decision.

They just don't teach writing the way they used to, do they?

Is it just me, or does anyone else have trouble following the narrative in the OP's post?

I remember a thread in which you talked about trading your first Stingray for a second. Are you having problems with your current Stingray? I never understood why you had not pressed GM more when you had the first, problematic car.

I hope you find some satisfaction with whatever car you buy. It seems you are still bitter about time, money, etc. wasted dealing with your first Stingray and no Stingray is going to fix that. Good luck. Enjoy whatever you get.
