I wonder how long I'm going to have to wait until my dealership (Jim Ellis) gets an allocation for a Z51

The Availability is the percentage of cars on a nationwide basis that will be allocated with that option. So, if you want chrome wheels (Q7E), they are completely unavailable. Percentages at individual dealers will vary from these percentages. The larger dealers tend to get somewhat more and the smaller dealers seem to get somewhat less.

My TPW is 9/8 and the car has the Z51 (55%) and C2Z (20%) options, it will be interesting to see if the car is actually built next week.

Thanks for taking to to explain. So, would one way of saying it be...50% of order/allocations needing carbon fiber dashes will be built that particular week?

Constraints do not impact builds once your order gets accepted (status 2000). Constraints determine which orders are going to be able to get from 1100 to 2000.

50% of the orders being accepted that week will be allowed to have the carbon fiber dashes. They will be actually be built a few weeks later.

I still don't understand how there can be constraints on options during a week when there are zero cars being allocated.

I never understoood this contraint issue. ALL options should be available at ALL time. Nobody should have to settle for anything less.

It's an unfortunate fact that sometimes suppliers can't keep up with demand.

Mike, Could it be for allocations already handed out to a dealer, but not produced or ordered?

I agree with you but whoever is tasked with manufacturing the carbon dash needs to get a talking to. It's been on constraint for a long, long time. GM needs to tell them and find a new supplier.

It also amazes me that GM puts new options on the car and then has none available. Such as the valve stem caps and colored vents.

No allocations this week.
It is strange that All dealers were on a 3 week cycle this time, my dealer told me last week that they would not get any allocations till Sept 11.

I don't think so, David. My interpretation is that GM is saying, for example, "Only 50% of orders picked up this week can include RPO FAY, and no orders will be picked up this week." As for past allocations, and not used by close of business on Tuesday are simply forfeited. I'm finding the idea of constrained options during a week of zero allocations to be very confusing.

I didn't think that dealer allocations were "model-based". I thought if a dealer gets an allocation for a Corvette he can place an order for any model he or the customer wants. It just won't be built until the factory has the constrained option available to build that order. (?)

Default allocations and Constraints?

I was told by my Large dealer 2 weeks ago the dual roof and or Carbon fiber roof was a constraint and they would not order again for 3 weeks...
I guess that would mean that they new they could not order again for 3 weeks?
We're not coughing up 80 Grand for a car we don't have to have with out the options we want.
questions?

You could definitely be right. I was under a different impression at the dealership, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just misinformation.
