Would you add PDR functionality to your 2014?
If an aftermarket solution became available from GM and Cosworth, to retrofit a version of the PDR, would you add it to your 2014 Corvette?
Bear in mind that it may mean slightly less performance or that it may mean fewer features.
For me, as someone who will put my Corvette on the track a couple of times a year as well as someone who likes to record favorite drives with my GoPro on the windshield, I'd add it in a heartbeat if it became available and it was an straight forward retro-fit.

I'd consider it, but I'd want to see functionality and price before committing to it.

I find this very interesting. It seems like a lot of '14 owners would like it but most (it seems anyway) of the '15 buyers are calling it useless. Personally, I'm really looking forward to the telemetry when tracking it.
I hope you guys can make it happen for yours.

The 2014 people have the choice. 2015 customers have it forced upon them if they want navigation.

I put "consider it". I'd honestly be happy with nothing more than just a camera that can fit into the existed PDR camera space on the 2014's mirror mount. The rest of the PDR features (all the overlays and such) would be niceties at best, extraneous at worst in my opinion. Considering the factory's offering a 720p (as I recall) camera for it, a 1080p 'standalone' camera would be more than adequate.

The OEM system is $1795; I wonder how much the retro-fit version will cost?
And I'm one of the folks the feel the Nav and PDR should have been two separate options.

I said I'd consider it if it was straightforward install. Given all the telemetry not sure how simple it would be. Oh, and it should be seamless with the infotainment system. I do not want it to be an add-on like if the curb alert was a direct replacement for front sensors. Curb alert is fine, don't get me wrong, but it would be a poor solution if '15 had sensors and this was the solution. That's not seamless.

I asked the engineers at the bash if this could be done and was told
I would have to replace virtually the entire wiring harness as it
is so different with PDR. Could it be done yes, but would be very
costly. There are some aftermarket systems out there now like
Lap timer and others that work on a smart phone. Not the
same but does work.

I voted yes 'Of Course'. To me, it's the biggest difference between our 2014's and the 2015. My A6 works great and as long as it keeps doing that I view the A8 as just going for Cafe ratings.
I'm doing a workaround on a PDR but requires more effort. Yesterday I ordered this http://gopoint-technology.mybigcomme...oid-and-apple/ and when it comes I'll d/load https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...timerpro&hl=en
I'll be able to use either my phone or Hero3 GoPro. But more effort than just pushing a couple of buttons on the PDR then carrying the SD card inside to my computer. Up side is, I'll be able to read all the codes in my car at will . Another upside is it's much less expensive.

For those that just want a 1080 Dash Cam, I did this to my 2014 a while back.
It's a BlackVue 1080p camera with wireless playback. $200 and about 2 hours of time. Only negative is the MPH and time overlay is upside down.
