Default Why are so many people selling their C7's already?

I am astonished by the number of used C7 sakes on this forum. Many have not put 3000 miles on the cars. I can see some buying the Z06 but that seems like a small minority,

I understand these are emotional purchases and the reality of having $65K locked up or making payments may hit sooner rather than later.

I just don't understand selling a car especially in a forum where $6000+ discounts on new ones and that and more on new 14 leftovers are easy to come by. I wonder what will happen when the lots are filled with 15 stock and people don;t have to wait for weeks to get one.

Personally I am Vetteless right now and looking. I enjoyed an 05 C6 awhile but wanted a newer model 08 and up and even used C7s are all in the mix. When I peruse the used C7 threads I am surprised at so many resales.

I think the hardest used 14 to sell would be the Automatic because of the new much heartier A8 made for the Z06 (and trucks who will be using the better towing capability of the stronger transmission).

Some just want to be the first one and move on to the next first one.

Sold my 2014 NRB Z51 with the A6 and 4000 miles in less than a week and received better than market for it. Hopefully the 2015 Z06 will be here in 8-10 weeks. Loved everything about the Z51. I'm sure the same will be said of the Z06.

Yeah there are a few ordering Z06s but not many.
If I am not mistaken I saw your car being sold at MB Chevy today..had 4k on it. Dark Blue with Kalahari. Had some custom decals or something on the manifold covers. Owners son was revving the living shyte out of it....I thought the engine would blow. I would have walked away from that deal LOL

MB Chevy sells used Vettes at NEW Vette prices. Buyers here think this is Hawaii. Judd Kuhn was selling 14s at MSRP a couple weeks ago. Look at their asking prices for used Vettes!! They also pay more for used Vettes as well.

Amazing.

Because the vast majority of people in this country finance things they can't afford. They never consider the $8-10K loss when trading in because as far as they are concerned, their monthly car payment stays the same. Why do people trade in/sell new cars? Because it's easy.

I'm eventually going to sell mine so I can get the new Z06. I have an auto but someone will want a Cyber Grey w/Kalahari and I'll eventually get what I want out of it.

"Because the vast majority of people in this country finance things they can't afford". You are exactly right, and to many, it is initially an emotional thing....wow!, new car, Corvette, this will make me happy!, and then reality sets in - month after month of payments for the next "x" number of years. For many, the excitement of the new car soon begins to fade, and since they've had it for awhile and had fun with it, its time to sell it and get something more reasonable...and affordable.

That was her. It also sold with an aFe CAI, WeaponX ported throttle body and Diablo tune. Whoever bought it still got a good deal. I was about to add headers and S/C but decided to go the Z06 route.

I'll agree some people buy beyond their financial capabilities. Other just like to play with their toys for a while and get bored. As far as to what people will pay, it's like trying to pet a rattle snake. If you get bit you can't blame the snake. Common sense can be a lost art to some people.

Send the seller a PM and ask why he/she is selling.

I'm guessing that for every C7 (used) that's for sale, there's a story for the reason. As far as payments go, I've never begrudged paying for something I work for.
If you're worried about the car not being up to your expectations, if you liked the C6, you'll love the C7.

What's "so many"?

30k plus C7s were sold. What's a few hundred or so for sale.

Just like any car, some had their fun and want to move on, some want a Z06, some probably can't afford it and probably several other reasons. It's normal.

A lot of people bought the 2014 C7 sight unseen. Then, when they found the cabin interior being tight, they decided to trade them in?

Well I'm in it for the long haul I guess. I ordered my Cyber Gray 3LT Z51 with every option I wanted simply because I plan on keeping the car.

I don't know about others, but my car IS special to me and that's NOT something I can see going away.

I am a realist and not beholden to any brand and will question what I see as odd. Seeing dozens of relatively new and recent ballyhooed designed cars for sale makes me wonder what's up. Nothing more nothing less. I am used to you guys in the Harley Forums. Harley can do no wrong and do NOT dare question them..

Yes 36K cars sold but Apparently quite a few major enthusiasts (because that is who usually inhabit these kinds of forums) are selling their new C7s some waited weeks for and had to be first in line before even driving one...Now selling? ...No one can question that? Some one questions GMs response to a "few engine failures" as "bad oil filters" and they are out of line?
