My Laguna Blue 2015 is home (lots of pics)
I'm thrilled to report that I took delivery of my new 2015 Stingray last week and couldn't be happier with it. My Stingray saga began during the 1-13-13 reveal, after which I must admit I was underwhelmed with the car's styling. Like many here, I struggled with the dramatic changes e.g. the absence of round taillights, the flat rear window, the side quarter windows, and the departure from what I thought was the perfect instrument cluster in the C6. I remained lukewarm to the car until seeing one in person at last year's museum bash. One look at the Laguna Blue coupe that was on display was all it took to be completely blown away by the car's looks. Fast forward to this year's bash, where good friend and forum buddy Paul Pearson (talon90) graciously allowed me to test drive his Stingray and my goose was cooked; the order went in shortly afterward. I traded in my 2005 C6 Z51 coupe that I owned since new.
I went with a Laguna Blue Z51 coupe, equipped as follows:
I was also on the fence about the stinger stripe and Carbon Flash badging. After seeing them, though, I couldn't be happier. Though they're not to everyone's taste, they're definitely to mine and I'm very happy to have ordered them. I'll let you judge for yourselves from the pics below.
As you already know, the car is an absolute knockout in every regard. Though I've only put around 250 miles on mine, it's already clear that this car blows away my previous C6 in every possible way. The feel of everything on this new Stingray is nothing short of amazing and the car just reeks of quality. Everything works as it should. A few things that stand out to me:
If you look closely at this next photo you'll see my new Stingray on the right but you'll also see my former 2005 Machine Silver coupe to the left. I traded in the 2005 on the 2015; since I work at this dealership as their Corvette Specialist I'm hoping to be able to sell the '05 to its next owner.
I went with a Laguna Blue Z51 coupe, equipped as follows:
- Jet Black 2LT interior
- MEL (7-speed manual)
- Magnetic selective ride control
- Navigation with PDR
- Silver painted wheels
- Painted roof panel
- DTW Carbon Flash hood stinger stripe
- EYT Carbon Flash badging

- The electric power steering is great; not only does it provide excellent feel but I love how it varies depending upon which driving mode is selected.
- The magnetic ride control really works; its effects on ride and handling are much more dramatic than I expected.
- The sounds that come out of this car are beautiful, largely due to the NPP exhaust.
- The entire MyLink system (including navigation) is a huge leap forward.
- The engineers responsible for developing the rev-matching technology should be given special commendation. It's a brilliant piece of work that performs flawlessly. Nicely done!
- The LT1 pulls like nothing else I've ever experienced; it's WAY more potent than my '05's LS2.
- The clutch is much smoother and easier to control than that of my '05.

Congrats. That is one beautiful Stingray. Good choice on the wheels, many are going with black, I think the painted are perfect and the chrome ones would have taken away from the body color.
Great choice all the way around. It will look even better with that bright yellow dealer tag gone.
You will enjoy it more each time you drive it.

Congats!! Laguna Blue has been my favorite color as it reminds me of the Electron Blue color I had on my 2003 (see Avatar). I am looking at coming back to Vette ownership again but also looking at budget, so I may me going to black (my 2nd fav) in order to meet my price point.
