Not a C7, but did a 7,300+ mile trip in my C4 a few years back....

If you're not on a schedule, take your time and stop everywhere and anywhere you please, if nothing else so that you don't end up driving 700 miles a day. I think the only reason *that* didn't feel as bad was because my first leg of the journey was a 10 am to 4 am 900+ mile drive from KY to MN.

I'm guessing that you will take I-20 out of Dallas. Just did a similar trip but took I-44/I-40 out of Springfield MO. We went to Monument Valley in northern AZ, then the Grand Canyon,
down to Williams, AZ and drove route 66 from Seligman to Kingman.
Then to Laughlin NV for the night(stayed at the Aquarius Casino for $35). The took Hwy 163 west to US95 north. 4 lane concrete, super smooth, and straight and level for miles and miles with no traffic in the morning(hint-hint). Then we took Hwy 164 to I-15. I-15 to Barstow, CA. Then we took Hwy 58 to Hwy 99 north to Fresno, CA(stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites, safe area, really nice motel and reasonable prices).
From there we visited Sequoia NP, and kings Canyon NP(I really loved this drive on Hwy 180, well worth it).
The next day we visited Yosemite NP and took Hwy 120 over Tioga Pass(absolutely a beautiful drive).
I stayed in Mammoth Lakes, CA and then drove US395 north and then Hwy 89 to Lake Tahoe. Then took I-80 at Truckee, CA to San Francisco, CA. Stayed at the Hampton Inn in South San Francisco. The next day we left our Vettes at the hotel and took the free shuttle bus to downtown(a couple of blocks from China Town), took the cable car to Fisherman's Wharf, then took the trolley to Bart, Bart to LAX and then the free hotel shuttle back to the hotel. Very enjoyable day(and very tiring).
The next day we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and then took Hwy 1 north.
I really enjoyed the drive. We spent the night in Arcata, CA and the next day drove to Redwood NP. From there we took Hwy 101 north through OR. Some in our group headed over to Crater Lake NP. I didn't as I drove Hwy 101 through Coos Bay to Newport, where I spent the night.
Cut over to Portland, OR and crossed over into WA and took Hwy 14 along the Columbia River Gorge
to Walla Walla, WA and to Lewiston, Idaho for the night.
Then continued on US12 to Missoula, MT and got on I-90. Stayed on I-90 to Livingston, MT where I took US89 down to Yellowstone and stayed in a cabin at the Old faithful lodge. I had visited Yellowstone before so I didn't spend a lot of time there on this trip. The next morning I drove east to Cody, WY, a beautiful drive
and took Hwy 120 north to Hwy 296 to US212 across Beartooth Pass. Another spectacular drive.
Back onto I-90 at Laurel, MT. I 90 to Spearfish, where I spent the night. I had visited The Black Hills before, but love Mt Rushmore, so I drove down to see it an then back to I-90 over to Rapid City, where I got my windshield bulls eye repaired from a rock thrown by a SUV on I-90. Then over to tour the Badlands. I-90 to Sioux Falls, SD and then I-29 heading south for home(Springfield, MO).
If you duplicated our trip, you could take I-29 from Sioux Falls, SD south to Kansas City and then I-35 to Dallas.
6418 miles in 15 days and averaged 25.7 mpg. You should better that in your C7.

My wife and I are planning to road trip from Dallas Texas to the California coast to drive highway 1, will be about 60 hours / 4,000 miles of driving over 2 weeks. Was wondering if anyone else has done a similarly long road trip in a C7 before, any tips? We did several long trips in my previous C6, but this will be the longest so far.

Just went 1900 miles to Hilton Head and back. Its my 777 car. Set the cruise at 77 in 7th gear and get 27 MPG. I really dont care about gas mileage.......but consider it an added bonus.
Man this car is a road machine!!!!
In fact I tracked it on Sept 1 at mid ohio.....converted it back to street mid week and left on the trip on Saturday. What a sweet deal....hammer it all day on the track and then cruise better then a cadillac on the road.!!!!@

You will absolutely love doing a road trip in your C7. While I don't find my Z06 uncomfortable on the road trips, your C7 should really ride smooth. We did our trip the first two weeks in June and I was surprised that we only saw one C7 on the entire trip(in Williams, AZ).

Several great road trips here. This is what I'm looking forward to with my forthcoming Z06.

Greenville SC to Denver
I picked up my C7 in Greenville and drove it Denver, which was 1500 miles. Seats were comfortable. Very pleasant drive with no issues. I will remember this trip for the rest of my life.
At my driveway in Denver.
