The none Z51 with 2.41 may be better for the 1/4 , it should be able to be close to the next shift point at the end around 120. If you flash and hook it should be a good 60'.

Hard to say about the non Z51 2.41. Anyway we would like to see an A8 1/4 mile baseline run from either. Maybe this would give us an idea.

I'm the Brother, my name is Ben Charles, been using this screen name for over 10 years on Ls1tech and a number of other forums. I'm also on HP Tuners Forum under my real name as well, as I do professional GM Calibrating.

Ive been a member here for a while just never post, so now is as good as a time as ever .

The DA for the night with Track Elevation of 273 and temp in the high 70's most of the Nigt DA was around 1500 on my best pass. Made 4 total runs. PDR 2 runs and GM' PDR seems to be about 2 tenths off from actual 1/4 times (slower) but that could be b/c of wheel spin??

First pass ran 11.90 at 117.33, Nervous as hell and I missed the booth to pic up the timeslip, bet felt great. I can for sure FILL the TQ management of this thing.

Next 2 passes one by me and other by jeff were 12.1x at 116-117 with my 60 going 2.007 and his high 1.8x. Then I decided to let the car cool even long (about an hour). Me and Jeff weigh around 160-170 so the cars race weight on these pulls were about 3350, b/c it had less than 1/8 of fuel.

Met up with another C7 owner who wanted to race his convertible 14 A6 who he claimed to be stock but had NO TIME showing and I happen to get a look at his timeslip when we lined up.

I started talking to the other C7 owner and we got on the subject of Traction control, APPARENTLY I wasn't disabling the traction control all the way!!! Instead of holding the button I just pushed it once to see T/C on the dash as opposed to holding the button and seeing both lights disabled (newb mistake). SO I was a little excited to try it out on the race against him. AT this time Jeff had already left and we put 4 gallons of 93 in he tank.
Pulled a 11.85 at 118.3 with a 1.82 spinning pretty good. I got him the light and never looked back. I'll post the time slip later and the PDR video (have to figure that out??) He ran 11.84 (crappy light) at 122.06 with a 1.92 60 (guessing he had a tune an CAI, he wouldn't pop the hood.

I post more info later, just wanted to get the info out there.
Met some really cool vette guys too. Be back after awhile

11.85@118.3 is great at 1500 DA. The 1.82 60' is pretty decent on stock tires. I'll bet near sea level that would be 11.7s@119+.

No way the C7 A6 was stock trapping 122 at that altitude, heck even at sea level.

I am unbiased as I own a C7 A6

Good job for the first time out. And I am quite sure most of the members appreciate you posting the long awaiting information. To give you an idea, I ran 11.94@116 60 ft 1.79 first time out with my convertible base model. But if you look at my trap speed I probably had a little more left.....just three passes for the day. DA was 1400, just don't know elevation for comparison. But just remember if that particular C7 had a 122.06 trap speed it could do much better than 11.85. I would be very curious of what mods he had in place. Anyway, it sounded like you guys had fun. And again we appreciate the update.

It was fun, first time me and my brother have drag raced in almost 5 years. As much as I read here on the forum nobody said hold the traction control button down! Wish we would have had more than one run with the car set on kill!
But a 11.85 at 118mph with just over a 1/4 tank of gas is rolling. 60ft as Ben posted was 1.82 spinning out of the hole. On that pass PDR said 0-60 was 3.9. Time slip also said the 1/8 mile was 7.68 at 93.78 mph. If we can hook it out of the hole and cut a high 1.6 60ft no doubt is will go 11.50s/11.60s.

We are going back to the track in a month or so when its good and cold. Air last night was a little sticky for sure. I must say guys were coming up to the car all the time, it was crazy how much attention it got. I was in the stands watching the first run with my wife. Ben pulls up the light and the announcer was talking to the crowd about the new stingray. Then these guys in front of us were saying hey theirs that new 2015 corvette. I was taken back by this. I my brother ran an older trans am his first run, Ben ran an 11.90(we didn't know at the time but it still had some traction control on) and it looked good. The T/A got him out of the hole but Ben came around him. Guy with the T/A came over to the pits and asked Ben what was done to it. He was very surprised to hear it was bone stock, he just shook his head. GM has built one fine car!

Ben,
You don't have to hold the TC button and disable everything. You can do just as you did and just press it once and just turn off TC. I turn it off for the burnout and just leave it off when staging the car. Were you flashing the convertor out of the hole?
Make sure guys get your car on the Fast List in the C7 Tech Section!
Another solid-11 second bone stock C7 on the list!

Ok here's how it went down. Car was put in track mode with the TC button hit once. He rolled up to the water and drove around it, did a decent burn out(nothing crazy) and staged with the brake lightly pressed. When the third yellow hit he stabbed the gas as fast as possible and held it. The first two runs were exactly done this was. The car did not spin and was cutting around 1.8 60fts, but it was holding back. When you stabbed the gas pedal there was a for sure hesitation before it really hauled ***. Third run was done the exact same way except he thought why not try the stall it a little and launch it to see what happens. Car was stalled to 1200 and spun bad out of the hole with the slowest pass of the night a 12.1, 60ft was like a 2.1. Now Ben ran into the one guy in the hole place who had another stingray. This guy said are you not holding the traction control button down for 3 or 4 seconds to turn off all of the traction management system. He said you are only turning half of it off by pushing it once. Now the car had at least 3 more gallons of gas at this point. Ben held the button down, now he has two icons showing TC is off instead of one. He does the exact same thing as passes 1 and 2. He leaves of idle stabbing the gas as fast as possible. This time there was no bogging at all, it just hauled *** and ran its fastest pass of the night with its highest trap speed at 118 mph. Problem was it didn't hook that run out of the hole. Wish we would have had a little more time.
