Default Has anyone installed an aftermarket Stinger stripe?

Ordered my Artic White Coupe, its set for build the week of 9/29, but I want to add the stripe to the hood... Its too late to add to my build so I will purchase aftermarket. Saw one on ebay for $49.. Just wondering if anyone has installed one themselves.. Please post pictures if you have!

If you have purchased one aftermarket, where did you get it from?

Thanks!!

Mine was also an aftermarket stripe by a forum vender. Personally, I think I would stay away from a $50.00 E-Bay stripe. Mine was $175.00, made of the same material as the factory stripe and easily installed by a local installer....

Thanks.. It looks great.. Who did your installation, was it a tint shop as well? I love your rims.. I like that machined look.. Are they from a forum vendor? I ordered mine with the stock base rims. I'm going to start shopping around for replacements once the car arrives.

I hear the factory stinger stripe goes underneath the vents so unless you pull them it may leave a gap. I have ordered my C7 without it but now I'm thinking I want to add it too. It should be easy to install yourself with a soft squeegee and losts of soapy water.

$183? Was it carbon flash?

Yep. I wanted it to match the mirrors and spoiler and anything else that was carbon flash. I've since put a coat of wax on it so it's allot shinier.

Planning on a full body dual racing stripe like the factory one but in TR for my 2015 Blade Silver coupe once I get it. The only red available from the factory is the tint coat which I don't think will look right with the AR interior and red calipers. Haven't decided on vendor yet.

The wheels are Nurburgring Alloy Wheels by TSW. I got them from a non-forum vender, but several venders do have them at a price of somewhere around $1,200.00 for all four. I get tons of compliments on the rims. The stripe was done by a local guy who applies stripes for dealers and charges between $50.00 & $90.00 for the application depending on whether you take the car to his shop or he comes to you. Finally, some of the guys on the forum had their stripes painted on by local body shops and those results look amazing....

Good luck on your new car!!

Did it myself, cost less than $25 for the material and took around an hour

Default Matte Vinyl applied with WrapCut

It's very subtle, but this is an option you might want to consider. I purchased some vinyl and cutting tape and applied my own stinger stripe.

It cuts down on the glare from the hood considerably, and it also protects the paint. (I also have a clear bra on the front)

A subtle alternative to the carbon flash

Had mine painted on in carbon flash then the whole hood clear coated so you can't feel the edges.

I bought one from VetteStripes at least a month ago and still don't have it on yet. It's too big of a vinyl installation for me to feel comfortable putting on myself and damn near every shop I've contacted has not gotten back to me. The only shop I've gotten a quote from wanted way too much and I honestly did not care for the shop owner's attitude or how he behaved around my car.

There is. I wanted to be a little different and wanted the contrast between the heat extractor and the stripe.

I tried to attach a closeup, but there's something wrong with this website.
