The oil temp. gets a little higher than I would like. If and when it gets to 290 deg. I either come in or run a little slower for a couple of laps.

Nice to see someone using the car. Do you just leave the 15w50 in during "track season"? I run 10w40 amsoil in my C5Z race car year round. I figure if I get a C7 I was just going to do the same, but wouldn't want to give GM any wiggle room on a warranty claim on track. Don't care to do oil changes after every weekend. I change the oil in the race car after every 2 or 3 weekends at the track.
I believe the 15W-50 is much higher in Zinc and they may not play well with the cats.
I guess that is part of the reason GM wants you to go back to factory oil. That and the cold tempos. we don't see in Florida.
If I have any catalytic warranty issues this post will self delete.

Have a good time! Have you ever tried running with the stock Z51 pads with them burnished? I am headed to the new Motorsport's Park in a couple weeks, I hate to spend $500.00 on a set of track pads because I am not sure how much tracking I am going to do with this car.
Thanks
Thanks

However, I feel they are only going to work at say a novice level and I don't believe you are in that group.
I would not consider using them at say an advanced or instructor level. The car has a very strong braking component , but the stock pads are for street use. Don' chance ruining your weekend because of the pads. Hope this helps.

Beretta, let me 1st mention that I did NOT properly burnish the stock pads and possibly caused my own problems with them.

I understand, I guess I was just hoping I might could get away with it. You are right it's not worth taking a chance, I only have one track day scheduled which pads do you like best front and rear without being to hard on the rotors?

I haven't been back yet. I skipped the one in August. Since my z06 allocation came up this week I probably won't take the stingray back to the track since I will sell it to fund the new one.
