C7 unacceptable interior noise
I recently purchased a C-7 LT3 Z-51 Coupe that is a fabulous car with one exception---the interior noise at 60 mph is so bad I can't carry on a conversation with my wife, listen to the radio or make phone calls. The differential has been replaced and the improvement was slight at best. I am pursuing a solution through GM but am being told this is just the way it is. I don't believe that---and I don't think this is tire noise--it is a whine that increases with rpm. Has anyone else had that problem and what was the solution. I can't keep the car if it can't be fixed.

Interesting, I have a vert and find the interior noise amazingly quiet. It's much better than my C5 vert and very easy to hold a conversation, liken to the radio or use bluetooth phone. Hope they get your issues figured out.

Are the roads you frequently use concrete? Corvettes are much noisier on this surface. On asphalt, they're amazingly quiet.

OP, you may want to take a look at how your tires are wearing. If you have a bit of extra toe in or camber your alignment, or ran your tire pressures a little high or low, you can get some strange wear patterns that can cause a lot of noise. Good luck!

There are some grooved concrete sections of the interstate around here. On those stretches, the interior noise is pretty loud, but otherwise the car is very quiet.

this... is a negative ???
really though; before delivery... Mr. Frost King assumed he'd be covering the interior surfaces of his new 2015 C7. But now that I am finally driving it - the interior noise is less than my C5's were. So much less that I don't think I ever will. The big test will be with 7k+ miles on the tires though. But this early on, it is an improvement over our last two Corvettes.
Non Z51 with ZF1 Z51 rims & tires.

Install a decibel meter on your phone and post your findings.
I'm sure other would compare the results.

60mph where?
On grooved pavement in some area's it is unbearable loud so depends on what your driving on.
On 90 percent of roads its fine but I've been on some where its insanely loud with the pavement/tires combo.
I can confirm with a calibrated meter its only 86db at 120mph with the roof off and the meter between driver and passenger.

Is your exhaust open or closed just at thought.

I had my sights set on a similar C7...3LT Z51 with MSRC and some other goodies. The high noise level on all but the smoothest of roads (because of the lower profile and stickier tires on the larger Z51 wheels) killed the deal. I also drove another Z51 w/o MSRC, and it was just as noisy, but didn't ride as smoothly.
We don't have grooved roads around here, so that's not the cause.
I'm really surprised GM has anted up for replacing anything on your car since they're all like that.
Too bad you can't trade wheels and tires with someone who has a non-Z51, since the two of those I drove were much quieter. The dealer told me the non-Z51 wheels wouldn't clear the larger brakes on the Z51.

There is a vendor on the forum site that sells a noise canceling mat for the storage area that should bring the rear tire/drivetrain noise down considerably, at least equal to that of a convertible. DynaMat makes multiple universal products that could also be used in the cargo area as well as under the floor mats that not only cancel noise but also reduce radiant heat. If you can't get a C7 from a dealer for comparison, you could also try renting one for a few hours just to be sure your noise is not normal.
