Default Black wheel weights

Just had a black Z51 wheel rebalanced and they used silver wheel weights. They said they didn't have black ones like done at the factory. Since they stand out like a sore thumb I am not happy about the look. Any ideas?

They make a produce you might have heard of to fix the problem. Black touch up paint

Already did that as an immediate reduction in contrast. But hard to get the thin sides painted without getting on the wheel. Let's just say I am more particular than the average bear. I thought someone might have a source for black wheel weights.

Or sticky weights on the inside of the wheel. Never had an issue with them and mine have all balanced out just fine.

My weights were placed on the front and back of the barrel. You just notice the one behind the wheel spokes.

if they are already mounted, I would tape them off, acetone wash them and spray them with flat black Duplicolor from the the auto parts store - 20 min job...

Home Depot or lowes
Yes it peels right off
Tape a square around the weight about 1inch around the weight
Give it 3 good coats of dip and let dry
Pull tape of and peel dip off of the wheel around the weight ( no need to be real careful ) it will peel off easy and leave the coating on the weight
Any overspray comes off with some wd40 and a microfiber cloth

Taping around the wheel weights should keep any added paint from getting on the wheels.

My local Discount Tire painted them black before they mounted them. They keep a can of Duplicolor just for black wheels. Cheaper than stocking black weights. I shop there a lot, they take good care of me

It actually does look pretty bad. I just got my winter tires mounted onto black Z51 knock-offs and I'll definitely be plasti-dipping the weights.

3M makes the correct wheel weights that GM uses.
I also am VERY particular, when I had a tire replaced on my 14' 1LE they used chrome wheel weights.
I found out that 3M makes the factory weights and you can cut them to size.
Just surround the weight with painters tape and use a plastic trim tool to pop it off, then replace it with the correct amount of weight in the same spot and you're good.

Thanks for bringing up the issue! Just ordered 18 oz of powder coated steel weight strips on the net for $10 including shipping. Will put in the rear compartment in case of a flat. I'm sure my tire shop would use silver weights which would not look good with my black wheels!
You could just remove what was put on and replace the weights with black ones. Sounds easier than masking and painting! As noted, the ones I bought are powder coated. Just remove the ones that are on, use a postage scale to define how much weight you need to match and put new ones in the same place.
