I had a similar problem with my CTS-V Cadillac. I took it to my dealer, they replaced a part - everything works fine now...

I hope Im wrong but Ive needed my Infotainment system replaced 3 times in the 6 months Ive owned my 2014 (currently waiting 3 weeks for the dealer to get the part in) and each time, that was the first sign of trouble...followed by the Nav system stuttering and leaving out words... then the screen blinking out until finally...just the sad glow of a screen with nothing to display

Mike,

Sorry for the problem. I did not find any bulletins or preliminary information on this issue. You may have an open in the wiring [harness/connector/terminals] or defect in the module that controls the USB signal. Were you able to determine if you at least have the 5 volts available at either of the USB ports?

Hi Allen - thanks for reaching out. I have an appointment at the dealer for Wednesday and will ask them to check on the voltage availability. Regarding bulletins/preliminary information, are you familiar with PI1159C? I got that from the person at the GM Infotainment support line who suggested that I share it with my dealer.

Unfortunately, the OP started a new thread for that, instead of coming back here

Yeah, I wasn't sure which way to go - post the outcome in this (the original) thread and hope that people who are interested would reopen it or start a new thread announcing that there was a solution and including a link to the original thread. I obviously chose the latter. Thank you, Michael, for posting the link here to the new thread.

No sweat. I had just read your other thread a few hours before, so I knew where to look.
