I'm trying to only do meaningful performance mods to by base C7 not cosmetic like with my '05 C6 Z51.
just put mine on a lift, support by jack pucks, and slid em on..it's a very easy install, the time consumer (if any) is attaching and moving the links on the rear and front bars.

I find it interesting that many of those who feel that the Z51 should only be bought by those who "track" their C7 are the same ones getting ZF1 packages, sway bars, Z51 shocks, etc. and in essence are ending up spending more than they would have without getting the complete package they would have had they ordered the Z51 to begin with. Also, no ability to get the MRC, larger vented brake rotors , functional rear airflow vents, ELSD, dry sump.

Those that purchased this option at its original $2800 price got the bargain of the century (tracking it or not).

it was easy for me, I did not want the z51 package as I wanted the softer ride, no wet sump and no dusty brakes. It was never about it being "a deal". I did not want the z51 spoiler, Elsd or MRC either. So the ala carte way for me was maybe more expensive, but I built what I wanted.

You do know that to get the MRC on a Z51 originally you needed to add another $1,795 thus totaling $4775.

Like Glen I'm only adding what I want 'a la carte. The Z51 sway bars will go a long way getting me where I want to be for only $300. Next? maybe larger wheels when I need new tires that will be lower profile. The TSW Nurbugring Wheels in gunmetal gray with mirror face look great for under $1500. The base braking with no dust is perfect for me and I don't do enough sustained lateral G driving to need a dry sump.

The price is so good I was about to order the sway bars but I had two straight weekends of spirited driving on Kentucky back roads, now I'm not so sure. C7 is a very capable car the way it is!

i autocross with nepascca and some nccc events, ( at least 15 events this year with my c7) i started the season bone stock( a6 hoosiers on c5 z06 wheels),at first event someone took pictures and posted them to me showing me that my car looked like the love boat out there, it was sad! then i added bars, that $300 was well spent, then $300 more on z51 shocks, new pictures no longer get me sick, F.Y.I. IF YOU DONT RUN STICKY TIRES, i would not change a thing. the skinny dodge neon size tires that come on car will give out( slip) long before body rocks and rolls, i run 315/35/17 up front, 315/30/18's out back. hope this helps, it might not be skidpad numbers but feel and THE LOOK OF CAR running hot/fast means a ton to me.

i disagree and have written so, as a DD, I can feel the diff on railroad tracks, speed bumps and making emergency darting at interstate speed. The car recovers quicker. For me, who does not care about the track at all, I def can tell the diff.YMMV....no right or wrong answer here, we are all different...

with sticky tires autocrossing/tracking you should/must stiffen up the car, on stock tires it does not mean as much. yes i feel it,i like it, but its not a MUST! on the street.

agreed..absolutely not a must at all.

But I don't think "a must" was ever intimated here. and if this was $500-700 I would not have spent the money. For $300 or so, it's doable for me.

And although this is highly irrational, a perf shop that has done a few near me, tells me a few want it because it just looks like there is something missing...LOL

I'd be interested in knowing if these can be installed by driving up ramps, or if the car needs to be on jack stands.

I used ramps to install Z51 sway bars on my c6.
Sure it would be easier using a lift, but with the ramps, other than having to crawl around on the floor, no problem.
I doubt it would be any different using ramps with a C7
