Seemingly High Prices of Leftover 2014's
Perusing various corvette dealers around the country for leftover 2014 verts (I like the Limestone Green), and am amazed by the still high prices they are seeking (close to MSRP). Why would anyone buy a 2014, which is a year old car, when a nearly equipped 2015 is not much more? Seems like dealers are refusing to depreciate the 2014's at this point. How much longer can that possibly last? Even supplier's discount would not factor in depreciation. Am I just naïve?

It's lime rock green... the best color.
There aren't a lot of '14s left, relative to the number sold so far. Last time I looked in cars.com there were less than 2000 of any color in the whole country. And I doubt many '15s are just sitting around on regular dealer's lots yet. So, C7s are still semi rare.
Unfortunately, unless you are a baller, the LRGs still available are almost all the Premium Edition convertibles at about $80k MSRP.

They're not going to start giving them away just because there's a new model year. They know that someone will eventually pay the price .. 2014 or 2015, they're both brand new cars and have the same warranty .. and the '15s aren't that much different ..
You just don't see bargain-basement sales on Corvettes ..

Plus the smaller or remote dealers who don't get a moderate to large allocation and/or who don't stock many (if any at all) new or pre-owned C7's will price them higher than the typical medium-large volume dealerships... the Corvette world doesn't revolve around C7 forums and C7 forum dealers alike so there are a good number of dealers spread out across the nation who will continue to price the C7 at or near MSRP, even moreso if they have a build/color that's highly desirable.

Even the C6's still fetch fair prices and 15's are no different than the 14's so don't expect them to be left out at the curb with the garbage just because they're a "model year" old.
