Default Locking the car/alarm off?

Can someone tell me how to lock the doors, and not have the alarm armed? I'm putting the car on a ferry this week, and you can't have alarms set on the boat for obvious reasons, but I want to lock the doors.....The book says to lock the door with the key? I assume it's the key inside the key fob, but how do I lock the door with it??

Intrusion and Inclination
Sensors Disable Switch
It is recommended that the intrusion
and inclination sensors be
deactivated if pets are left in the
vehicle or the vehicle is being
transported.
With the vehicle turned off, press "Off"
on the right side of the hatch
release button. The indicator light
will come on momentarily, indicating
that these sensors have been
disabled for the next alarm system
arming cycle.

Thank you sir....I guess I didn't read far enough. That's one more item I can scratch off the list of things to figure out on the new Vette....
