Check with the NCM about their insurance coverage. I got an agreed value policy through them on my C5 for no difference in price than I was paying through my previous insurance company.

Most insurance companies aren't aware of these types of costs unless you actually tell them so this will likely not be a factor in driving the rate up.
I was paying $147/month for my Silverado - Vette is $78/month. I'm 25 next week with an ok driving record (couple citations). Some things in life you don't ask about, you just roll with

I got mine from Adam and Bobbie Jo from NCM for less than $700/year.

Also, I drive only about 6,000 miles per year.
Biggest factor could be that my 05 was only worth about $25K and the 14 over $60K.....

I have GEICO and I just got my renewal and they increased my premium by $340./year. When I called to find out why they said that when they originally insured the C7 there wasn't enough data on the car but now that they have more data the rates have increased. I was with GEICO for over seven years but I don't have any loyalty to any company so I checked around and called about fifteen different insurance companies and the prices were all over the place. I finally settled on Met Life and will be saving about $370./year.
My wife and I have a spotless record so everyone's circumstances can be different but you should take the time and shop around in order to get a fair insurance premium.

They are screwing you.
Talk to someone higher up and get them to cover you at a reasonable rate for the same coverage as your C6.
Carbon fiber hoods and roofs are much more expensive to replace, btw.
I pay 1350 annually on mine, at 27 years old and a clean record. Not that bad IMO.
I was quoted as high as 240 per month when looking around.
Some places are looking for a sucker and not minding screwing people over.

Mine went down $50.00 from my 2005 C6 to my 2014 C7.
Liberty Mutual, Long time customer, multi-car but homeowners with a different company.
Had to go look up the annual premium. $798.00. Full coverage and the car stays on the road year round.

I got quotes from some other companies and they were even higher. What up wit dis....'they said' that when a new model comes out they don't know how much it will cost to fix it so they guess high until the actual figures come out. Didn't happen when I went from C5 to new C6. In fact Ive been paying about the same for the last 20 years with slight annual increases and all Corvette.

USAA is usually very competitive. It usually helps to have a bundle of coverage with homeowners, life, and another car with the same policy. A 100% increase in insurance costs just for moving to a c7 from a c6 is too much.

I just got a quote from the NCM and it was very competitive. However I did raise my deductable to 1K from $500.00 and lowered my liability. I have to tweak thing a little more. BTW this was for 6000 miles a year.
