I'm in the same boat with you, very competitive and mine is also for 6000 miles a year. I already signed up and got my C7 now covered by NCM.

I know how you feel. My lowest was with Met Life as I mentioned and just signed on with them yesterday.

Just picked up my C7 Z 51 vert on Saturday. Traded in a 2010 Grand Sport vert. Insurance went up $15 for year I pay just over $800 now so it'll still be low eight hundreds. I have four cars, three bikes, two sledss and our house all with same company and zero claims so that probaly makes a difference. I'm in Oshawa Ontario Canada. In Ontario we have "No Fault" insurance.

I hope that works out better for the injured/wronged party than California's 'No Fault" divorce laws..................

Hi Roy, I drove by Wilson Niblett on Saturday afternoon, I came away with what looks like your GS you traded in earlier that day. Loved the car inside and out. Jim Wilson says it will be ready for me Friday morning, can't wait. Looks like you took good care of it. Hey is that a short throw shifter? If so could you tell me what kind, just curious.

Thanks,
Rob

What's Insurance?

Don't we get FREE coverage for all Vette owners from ObamaCare?

I would not lie to you. I have been with USAA for over 50 years, but I don't think that is the reason my rate is lower for my 2015 Z51 Vert than it was for my 2012 2LT Base Vert. My rate is about $300/yr less. Oh, and BTW I average 15,000 miles/year. My 6 month premium for two cars with $1M liability and $500 deductable is $850 (Washington state)

I was with GEICO and mine doubled!

They wanted $2400 a year. Got a quote from USAA for $870 a year, which was 300 below me C6 rate! When I called GEICO to cancel they "magically" found a way to lower it to $940 a year. I passed. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!

Shop around.

As I mentioned before in a few threads please list your city or state in your profile especially when it comes to comparing insurance rates. The state you live in, especially the city, has a lot to do with the insurance quotes.

Try to update your profile as it would clarify a lot of topics discussed on the Forum.

As far as the city and state,I feel it don't make any difference to list them. The reason people aren't going to relocate to get better insurance rates.
If you live in NewYork City the rates are going to be higher than A corn field type town in rural Virginia.

I emailed the other day. Progressive didnt have 2015 rates, but going from a 2011 GS 1LT to a 2014 Z51 1LT with same coverage would only be $1 higher per six months.

What I'm saying is that for people reading the responses on the Forum, it is relevant to where they live and if you know what state they live then somebody that says they get an exceptional rate quote will make more sense. I'm not suggesting that anybody move just because of insurance costs.

By updating your profile to include your city or state is very helpful for most subjects, not only for this thread but for other threads.

Yeah the short throw shifter was from TPM I believe and it's just a cut down stock shifter. I put the original shifter and shift **** in the trunk along with the stock air intake. It has an Airaid installed. Mild to Wild switch should also still be on it. Great car but I loved the C7 convertible and just had to trade.

legally insuring your C7 is doing business?

I think it's more like insurance company profit of doing business.
