PDR Captures Tire Blowout
#4
Does the PDR record whenever the car is on? Does it default on? I assume it can be turned off? How much video/time does it hold? Does it max out and shut off or start overwriting the old stuff?

No, unless you are in Valet Mode.
No
Since it only works when you activate it, it's always off. Unless you are in valet mode.
The capacity is based on the SD card you use. The 128GB card I'm using has a little over 3100 minutes of recording time. They suggest using a maximum of 32GB cards. There is a way to use a larger capacity if you format the larger drive using FAT32; explained here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1587767149
It doesn't automatically overwrite unless you are in Valet Mode and have the "overwrite" option selected.
Feel free to ask any PDR questions, will do my best to get them answered.

You rock...
1. Does it interface with Waze?
2. Does it have GPS based lap timing like my Traqmate... in that I can set the start/finish point at any track and it will record/time from there?
My student's 2014 had a lap timer thing, but you had to manually push a button each lap with seemed worthless. He said he thought the 2015 PDR had GPS based timing/data acquisition.

I agree with the lane change but I would have hammered the throttle to get by the truck before the big pieces of road gator started flying.

Thank you.
The only interfacing between Waze and the car is through bluetooth and USB. The screen for Waze isn't displayed on the vehicle's screens, just the audio through the speakers.
The theory is that you can map out a race track and it can record laps. The Cosworth Toolbox software is able to analyze the data collected for lap times and various performance parameters. More information at: http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-st...-recorder.html
You start the recording at the beginning of the event and stop it at the end. There isn't a requirement to push a button for each lap. The software sorts that out.

I agree. My hesitation was due to the fact I had only had the car 2 days then and in the break-in period. Still adjusting to the car.

Glad you managed to avoid any damage, that could have been ugly.

After seeing the PDR presentation, a recorded incident could be used against you. (notice how many commented on the displayed speed) Should really have two SD cards available, if need be you could dispose of a questionable recording.
