Default Blendmount & Passport Max beware

I have a Blendmount for my Passport Max. Looks great. However, the mount does not allow the GPS to pick up the satelites. Thus, rendering the GPS feature of the Passport MAX useless. I hope blendmount comes out with a "fix".

I wonder if the gps antenna is positioned in a more "forward" location on the 9500??

Old news... Do a search and you will find some threads on the subject.

Fix was to use extenders to set the Max back further, as I recall.

And yes, also have a 9500ix and it works just fine. Seems to only affect the design of the Max.

This has been a well-known issue with the BM and Max ONLY for some time now. I have been in touch with the guys at BM. Just this past week, they created a longer "arm" and are in the process of sending one to me. They state that it appears to have resolved the issue. I hope to receive the new part this week and see for myself.

Apparently there are a couple of us helping to resolve the issue that only seems to be when used with the MAX as the ant is further back in the unit. Additionally the location of the mirror in the C7 gives you spotty GPS coverage. Me as well as others sent our mounts back for a no questions asked refund. I reached out to the guys that sell them and Chris asked if I would be interested in testing several arms of different lengths (they made them ona 3D printer) and I did and found that about 1/2" more is needed. Chris is sending me the finished piece in metal to try. There is a fix...more to follow

Thanks for the info, my Max goes in and out of coverage and initially thought it was the Escort. Hopefully Blendmount will send out free extenders as this is an expensive small piece of metal.

man I want the blendmount I was on the fence when I bought my RD... so I went with the beltronics pro 300. no gps.... But It works so good, running late from Biloxi last sun, went 106 MPH on 1 10 made the 3.5 hr trip in under 3 hrs....... if you have a c7 a good RD is a must, I will get the max soon, but I live in a small town so no need for the gps, the pro 300 and pro 500 is a great alternative JMO

I also got the extended arm, for my passport Max. Just like you mine still doesn't work also. I hope Blendmount is following this thread and realize how unsatisfied their customers are.

May also want to direct your angst towards the detector manufacturer and demand that they fix the design? Blendmount works perfectly with the 9500ix, so there has to be an issue with the design of the Max. Glad I didn't pop for the extra dough... 9500ix works great for both of our Vettes (no offense intended).

The manufacturer product works great. It's the "after market" mount that I have an issue with. Not enough "field testing " for blend mount

My Passport Max works great with Escorts “sticky mount.” Have it mounted as high as possible on the windshield under the passenger side sun visor, never lose GPS signal. Believe I have defined how to keep the mount “stinking!” I used 3M adhesive cleaner on the windshield and it has stayed put for several months even in the hot sun. Have installed a tether to the top window molding - just in case! Also use a small section of rubber hose wedged to prevent excess vibration, solved that problem.
