LS3 in the C7?
not liking the 4-8 c. in the c7, i have thought what would the c7 be like if it had the ls3 V8 in it . a crate motor would be nice if you could just drop it in but with all the na na na 'ies i think it would be a nightmare .
love the rest of the car but to me the 4-8

I take it you have an automatic. No V4 in a manual unless you switch to Eco mode.

4-8 combo.i like the auto but if i would have known about the manual and the 4c. i would not have bought the auto.i don't want to drive around using the paddle shift to bypass the 4 but you live you learn.
just wondering what the c7 would have been like with the ls3 .

it's transparent. Why did you buy a C7 w/o a test drive?

You're welcome.
Honest question:
Why the hell did you even think of this anyway?
A more relevant question would be Can you imagine the C7 without cylinder deactivation?
Thinking of going to an older, less efficient, less powerful platform is a moronic conclusion when a solution to this already exists.
You're welcome.

Here is what I think about an LS3 in the C7:
Why would anybody want to do it? LT1 has more HP and more Torque across the entire band. "Note the across-the-board gains despite no change in displacement, rev ceiling or even valve lift (the LT1 uses virtually the same cam profiles as the LS3) between the LS3 and LT1."

so what i gather so far is that if gm would have kept the ls3 most on here would not have liked it .
i agree with the power output and the car does have the power .
but i was just wondering ''if'' they would have kept the ls3 and a litte higher power output would people pick it over the 4-8. in other words
2 c7's side by side same power output but one has the ls3 v8 only what car would they buy .

4-8 is a complete non-issue for me. I've never seen V4 mode. MN7, never in Eco mode, so no V4. The low end torque in the LT1 is more than "a little higher power output".

If you're too lazy to paddle shift an automatic trans maybe you should take the bus.
