Perhaps if GM gets enough complaints about delivery time by rail, an expidited delivery might be an additional option.
When orders are place and an expidited delivery by truck is agreeable if there are enough orders going to a certain area. Customer is contacted and informed that there are enough cars to be transported by carrier truck and space is available.
I do not look forward to waiting 2 to 3 weeks delivery time while the railroad gets their sh$$t together
Just a thought

It looks like it's going to be more like 6 weeks, and it is unacceptable and unreal. I hope the car is in good condition after sitting around so long. I am very glad that my dealer over here near me is giving me Supplier, it helps after this long wait.

My dealer emailed me and he said it well be here in Mira Loma on Thursday. General Motors today called me and told me the same. Built 09-15-14, done with the factory pre dealer inspection on 09-18-14.

Really, General Motors called you...as in GM headquarters or something? Does this mean GM is truly paying attention to how slow the rail shipments are and how ticked-off the affected customers are. My C7 was built 10/8 and is still sitting in the Bowling Green parking lot waiting for a train according to the dealer. If GM would send me an airline ticket to Kentucky to pick up my car and drive it back to Oregon, I'd do it right away as it would be weeks faster than RR delivery.

After two days sitting in Kansas City I am moving again. As of this morning my rail car was in McPherson, KS with a new arrival date of 10/24 at 11:41 AM. Looks like the railcar is heading to El Paso.

Is Capitol trying to locate It? From 10/3-22 is a long time for a new car to go missing. My dealership is MacMulkin and they are dropshipping it from the factory to Capitol. As an aside, i recently stayed in Sisters, and hiked the Matthieu Lakes trail out of MacKenzie Pass.

Congratulations on yours going from lost to found at the local dealer where it was supposed to be! How do you like it?
I didn't get online until tonight, too late to call Capitol. I'll call them tomorrow, thanks for the info but am sure the second one isn't mine because MacMulkin last said it was still waiting for a train.
