C7 key fob survives the jacuzzi.
I decided to move the Corvette into the garage before jumping into our jacuzzi to relax.
After climbing out of the spa, I realized that I had forgotten to take the key fob out of my swim trunk pocket.
103 degree hot water for 30 minutes.
I let the fob dry on my dresser overnight and to my surprise it still works fine!
Good job GM.

What I've found from cracking open a few keyfobs in order to replace the battery.. is that they are generally water-resistant.. if not waterproof. There are rubber gaskets that line fob and the exterior buttons sit in plastic boots. Simple not any direct way for water to get into the fob. I'm sure if you soaked one in water for several days, it would find a way in. But these fobs were made to survive a drop in the pool, sink, toilet, pond, etc..

I inadvertently sent the fob from my '09 through the washer and dryer. It came out just fine. It definitely surprised me that something so fragile and easy to break was so waterproof.
The old-style fobs ('05-'07) are completely sealed with a gasket, so I would expect that they should be waterproof, but the new-style have no real gasket (that I can see) between the key and the fob, so I have no idea how the water stayed out.

I was pleasantly surprised the fob survived my hot water torture.
I'm sure with time, Stingray owners will come up with a solution to destroy these little electronic keys.
