Default Flowmaster Exhaust installed on my 2014 C7 Convertible A6

I just uploaded 4 videos in a later post...

Just picked up my 2014 C7 from the Chevy dealer after having my Flowmaster exhaust installed.

It is pouring rain so no vids driving yet, but I have a vid of it starting and some revs. My wife did not want to get he hair wet to video it, so she is doing the revving

Car is a 2014 C7 A6 non-npp.

Sure as heck my check engine light came on after I restarted it at home.

I called Chevy and told them let's give it a week to see if it goes off.
I will call Flowmaster also, supposedly they had the issue fixed.
If not it is just a matter of recalibrating the 4 cylinder valve settings from what I have been told.

Car sounds great from inside, no drone and loud enough, but not too loud.

I purposely got it to kick in to 4 cylinder mode where it sounds a bit like a Honda, but not bad.

Cruising vids coming Friday when it is nice out.

Click on link for vid.

Called Flowmaster, they called me back twice and they have their head of research and development calling me tonight or tomorrow, they want to make sure all is perfect and this is taken care of.

That is why I paid extra to have it installed by Chevy, I want no questions as to the install or warranty issues.

I feel confident that all will turn out well.

A guy with the B&B PRTs had the same issue and it was just a matter of Chevy recalibrating the 4 cylinder valves.

Friday or Saturday I'll post up some more vids cruising top up and top down.
Rain is scheduled through tomorrow afternoon.

It sounds great from my limited 7 miles driving home and around the neighborhood in the rain.

Sounds great. Getting ready to buy Flowmasters. Waiting for your full test, etc. Question: were flowmaster AFM valves virtual identical to OEM. Would have liked to see a picture. None on flowmaster site.

They looked identical, but Check Engine Light is still on.

I had Flowmasters American Thunder on my C6- however, on my C7 I think that the performance exhaust sounds better than the Flowmasters you installed-....my opinion

The Flowmasters sound better on the C7 than they did on the C6.

I've had the NPP on my 2007 Z06 and my 2008 C6, I always had to pull the fuse to make it loud enough, but then it droned.
The NPP is a great bang for the buck on the 2014+, but the Flowmaster is throatier and a bit louder all the time.

The NPP would quiet down to often on my automatic tranny, I would not like that.

I'll pass final judgement on the Flowmasters after a highway cruise.

My cost on the Flowmasters installed was less than the NPP.

BTW - My check engine light went off

Did you get the Flowmasters installed at the dealer for less than $200. That would suggest less than 2 hrs.

I went with B&B.I don't have NPP.I think I won't switch to economy and see what happens.
The dealer says he can install them in 2 hours.I've been hearing closer to 4.

$245 for install, took 3-4 hours, bought them for $731 Brand new, had a 15% off coupon after matching a sale price.

I don't have NPP either.
I never realized how often it switches to 4 cylinder mode until I could hear my exhaust.
I usually drive in Sport mode, track mode it kicks in a little less.
It is a bit harsh sounding in 4 cyl mode, but still beats the stock exhaust.

Here is one more video of mild acceleration (my wife filmed her pocketbook, lol), she thought I was only trying to record the sound.

I have to say....

This is the best sounding Corvette I have owned, except when it kicks in to 4 cylinder mode.
The volume is perfect.
However, I have not had it on the highway yet.

I am taking a 100 mile cruise down the shore today, I will report back as to highway cruising sound, if it goes in to 4 cylinder mode that might not be good?
I will also report if there is any highway drone in 4 or 8 cylinder mode.
I can always use the paddles to keep it in 8 cylinder mode on the highway, but I don't want to have to do that.

As for previous Corvettes with exhaust....

They include...

2005 with B&B Bullets
2005 with Magnaflows
2006 with Corsa Sports
2007 Z06 with NPP
2008 with NPP
2011 with Borla Sports

Quick question for you. Did you buy the exhaust from the dealer or privately? Also was it just the mufflers and tip or more? Sounds good. Thanks

I bought it from a Dealer and it is the mufflers, tips, and over axle pipes.

I will load today's vids up later.

Without a doubt one of the best sounding cars I've ever had, except when it kicks in to 4 cylinder mode.
Sure, you can dance around it by manually shifting or applying throttle, but a Tune or Range Technology device that disables 4 cylinder mode permanently would be much better and I am sure I will do one or the other.

I just ordered the Range AFM disabler, I can't have this sweet exhaust sound ruined by 4 cylinder mode.

I'll just make sure I take it out of the car when I come home, probably put a note on the door from the garage to the house so I won't forget.

Don't want a dead battery if I don't drive it for a week.
