95% of Chevy dealers will not accept CU/supplier pricing discounts on Corvettes.

If you work hard enough and don't mind some inconveniences it is possible to get it

Continue....what do I need to do? To get it in Cali...rather than truck it from out of state. Any dealers out there listening.

This 95% figure may be accurate, but 95% of Chevy dealers don't sell 95% of Corvettes. The big Corvette specialist dealers sell many, many C7s, and since most of them are sponsors here it isn't hard to poll them and see if they do the discounts.

Seems to be the same. They prob realize that the best way to sell a lot of units. Would definitely be great to get they're's and the Credit union one. Gonna go check them next month

That would be great, but not possible.

When you get a GM Employee or a GM Supplier certificate number and present it to a dealer, there is a set price that the dealer must charge you for that car and not a penny more or less or the dealer does not get any reimbursement money.

We had someone really get mad at us yesterday because they thought we were just refusing to honor their certificate and our price combined, but those are the rules!

Not totally sure about this, but I think one of the differences between supplier and CU is with supplier the dealer doc fees are capped at $75, where CU can be whatever the dealer normally charges.... like $495 at a Hendrick dealer for example.

My son needs to get off his A** and buy a new Vette Conv!

The dealer DOC fees vary by state from what GM Family & Friends Customer Service told me. In FL it is $75.00 for Supplier and other GM discounts.

What Dave said. I've bought cars under such programs in the past, and the manufacturers are very strict about the requirements since buyers will try to take advantage of them even if they don't qualify.

Depending on the car it's anywhere from $50 to $300 less with the supplier discount. Which is still worth it unless you are using a GM Card Rebate since most of those can not be combined with the employee or supplier program.

Hello!

Please find below the details on 2015 Z51 Coupes that we have available.

We are also willing to place a special order for you! Your order can be for a Coupe or Convertible, with or without Z51.

The Z51 option is still constrained and will be for the 2015 model year!

Here’s a chance to purchase one of our inbound Stingrays or to place a special order.

At this time WE ARE HONORING THE GM CREDIT UNION, SUPPLIER, AND EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT PROGRAMS (excludes Z06s)!

To make these deals you must call and ask for Corvette Specialist Kathy Fichtner.

800-234-5284

Choice of delivery location for one of the inbound Stingrays:
1) Here at our dealership in Montana. Fly into Billings, MT on any major airline and I will personally pick you up at the airport and bring you to the dealership for a first class in depth delivery. (we are just 20 minutes from the airport) No charge for this option.
2) We can finalize the paperwork and payment via overnight UPS and have the Stingray shipped to you. Let us know where you live for a quote.

Choice of delivery location for a special order Stingray:
1) Here at our dealership in Montana. Fly into Billings, MT on any major airline and I will personally pick you up at the airport and bring you to the dealership for a first class in depth delivery. (we are just 20 minutes from the airport) No charge for this option.
2) At a dealership of your choice subject to the courtesy delivery fee that they will charge you. You will need to contact a dealer in your area and tell them that you have a friend in Montana ordering a new Corvette for you and that you would like them to perform a courtesy delivery for you. We have found that the fee is lower at a smaller dealership. Further, we advise that you pay the fee directly to the dealership for 2 reasons: 1) you will have leverage to assure that the car is prepped correctly and to your satisfaction, 2) you will not have to pay sales tax on the courtesy fee as it will not be added to the sale price from us on the final paperwork.
3) At the Corvette museum subject to the $990 fee for doing so that is included in the MSRP of the car if you choose this option.

To answer what I believe the OP asked, extending the supplier discount to willing to participate credit unions came into being as a way to help keep the US auto industry viable. I am pretty sure Ford was also a participant but currently is not. I think the CU (I Love My Credit Union) program dates back to 2009 or maybe 2008. Since its inception a variety of other companies have joined the program, such as DELL.

Only historic in the last 20 or so years. Before that you could get your discount no matter which dealer sold the car.

Most dealers that do not have a strong GM employee base will not accept the GM discount. Rodgers Chevrolet just outside of Detroit handles the sales for most of the GM executives even though they are a little known dealership. Les Stanford is the only big name dealer on this forum that I know of that accepts the supplier discount. Good luck with your new car.

If a Chevy dealer accepted program discounts (the restriction as to who was eligible were greater and more specific before the middle 1990s) that dealer had to accept them across the Chevy line, with the exception of the Corvette line. No dealer was required to accept program pricing. That has always been true and still is.

For some time now program pricing eligibility has expanded and is rarely vehicle line restricted. It is still true you can get your discount if you meet eligibility requirements no matter which dealer you go to provided that dealer is accepting program pricing.

I do believe one of the rules to use the discount is that you have to keep the car for at least SIX months also.. so no quick sales or flipping the car..

Is Roger Judski an authorized dealer for new Corvettes? I thought he sold strictly pre-owned.

That only applies to the employee discount. The other programs, which for the most part track to Supplier pricing do not have any ownership restrictions once you take delivery. I believe all programs restrict you to a maximum of 2 purchases in a calendar year.

Flame me all you want but having been a participant in supplier programs for close to two decades the expansion of these programs significantly diminish their value. In the past the supplier program was consider a benefit of employment, something people who work for GM suppliers were able to use that separated them from the bulk of purchasers. With the recession causing GM to expand the programs to credit union members in an attempt to drum up sales it's caused a number of dealers to rethink their participation in the program. When it was only a very small percentage of buyers more dealers were inclined to participate because it didn't eat into their profit. Now that millions of people are potentially eligible I see the dealers acceptance dropping of rapidly. This is just my 2 cents and I'm happy for those who have been able to same come coin but I miss the old days when I usually dealt with the floor manager on a supplier deal instead of the typical salesman BS. Flame away.

Thanks, I did not know that! As far as diminishing the value of the program..I see no worries there.. I have not found a local dealer that would accept it.. It's not like I can just walk in anywhere and say "hey guy, I want that supplier discount" and get it. Sure you can get it from forum dealers , but they move a high volume of vettes.. So they are still getting their kickbacks and what not even if they aren't making as much profit on the sale.

I believe that was his point. When the discount only applied to employees of companies who supply GM, it was not that common, and more dealers were willing to accept it. Now, any Tom, Dick or Harry who joins a credit union can get it. Dealers do lose profits allowing this discount, and now that almost anyone can get it, the majority of dealers will not accept it.
