Default Why can't I stay in track mode?

I always drive in track mode because it keep exhaust valve open. When I turn off the car then restart it, it went to touring mode instead. Is this normal? It don't do it in sport mode.

Normal operation. Track defaults to touring mode when you turn the car off. You can go into settings though and change the exhaust mode to be open(loud) all the time.

Any mode defaults to touring when starting up, EXCEPT sport, it will stay there.

Track mode is designed for smooth tracks. It is very stiff with less compliance. Not for potholes. There have been reports of serious mag shock damage when track mode meets pothole.

I have mine set for Sport mode. When I tune the car on not start,it shows tour mode, but when I start it,it goes to sport mode. I did it by placing it in sport mode , then push the SET button on the door and then push the number one button till it beeps, that will set it for the driver-1 . So every time you start your car it will be in Sport mode.

If you set the dial on the console for Sport mode it will stay there when you shut it off and restart it. It has nothing to do with the memory buttons on the door.

Yes, normal. Because your nanny said it's too dangerous.

If you go to the settings menu, you can set your exhaust for the sport mode 24/7 and drive in eco. The best of both worlds.

I have found you can start in track mode if you go into accessory mode (power on but engine off), then change to track, then start car. But as other have said cannot be done by just leaving it in track mode before shutting engine off.

wouldn't it be just as simple to start it and then change it, actually probably more simple?

It has to do with EPA MPG ratings... in order for Corvette to get the EPA ratings it has the vehicle has to default to a mode that supports those ratings. Track Drive Mode does not support the EPA ratings for the Corvette, only Tour and Sport do. Of course, ECO does better than the EPA ratings but who would want their Corvette to default to "eco" mode? Yuck.
