I know the A8 Z06 trans overheating issue has been solved with dual trans coolers. I was wondering when the Z51 A8 cars will start to get the same parts.anyone know for sure?

The newest C5 trans would be over 10 year old technology already. No one is disagreeing that a manual has less heat issues than a manual. Your first post came off as rather arrogant though before you edited it. I'm sure the c7 manual is great on a track but to suggest the newer A8 paddle shifters really don't belong on a track is simply not accurate.

I would think that GM will update the cooling of the A8's with the new cooler. It would be a shame if they didn't. GM has bragged about the shift speed of the auto, quoting shift times of or better than dual clutch trannies, BMW and Porsche are much mote dependable on the track as far as over heating issues. It would be a serious flaw in GM's bragging if they don't address the problem. Building a very capable sports car that is good on the track and not making the A8 at least as capable is a real fail.
The question is, will they offer the upgrade to those who have already bought the A8 and are not being able to do more than 5-6 laps without an extended cool down period? I believe that for GM to really be proud of their new tranny they would want to have everyone happy with it. Of course this is GM we are talking about so the bean counters will more than likely nix this. But there is always hope.

So the new A8 isn't any more track worthy than the A6? I thought the new A8 had all the bells and whistles?
So the 2015 A8 will be improved in the future?
