With test drives of a base car hard to come by, I was wondering if anyone has driven a base car and can comment as to how the suspension compares to a Z57 with magnetic ride that can adjust the suspension with the dial?


I drove a Z5i with mag ride option and the touring mode was clearly more comfortable over bad roads, and slightly "Boaty" when compared to the stiffer Sport Mode. Does one of these compare to the base C7 with non adjustable suspension?

Anyone with real word seat time in both cars?

The base and mrc set for soft are very similar, the base is a shade softer...

Well then heres another question to help people with comparisons? How does the Z51 without MRC compare to the Z51 with MRC?

A Z51 w/o MSRC always rides firm but acceptable for a DD (YOMV but I'm experienced with both)... it's just a tad less firm than a Z51 w/ MSRC set at Sport mode.

However the beauty with the Z51 w/ MSRC is you can clearly tone the firmness down when going from Sport to Touring for example so the ride is certainly softer.

Has there been a side-by-side comparison published that shows the track performance of the base, Z51, and mag ride in each of its three modes? I am interested to see the lat g and slalom performance to see objectively how much the differ from one another.
