I guess I'm a bit impatient wanting to see it installed. Will have to order some coating since there is nothing available in this town, or drive to Houston.

just remember nothing is going to protect against a rock gash but a paint film, not a coating like opti coat or extra clear coat...

This one is carbon fiber not painted. I would think carbon flash metallic paint would show damage more.

Carbon fiber will gash just like any other splitter, the diff is it will be hard to fix as you can't easily match the weave, so then people paint it satin or carbon flash, if you're gonna do that, might as well start with carbon flash to begin with and pay a lot less...

I certainly may be wrong, somebody explain it to me....

I ordered a GM authorized regular front end cover (bra) from my dealer's parts department, to be installed upon delivery of the car. I've had them on every car I've owned since 1997, and NEVER had a problem.

The bra photos I've seen seem to have the entire front end covered, including the splitter. Me being wrong wouldn't surprise me, as it's my first Corvette, and is weeks away from delivery.
Thanks.

Thanks.

Your car does not come with a splitter , and the gm bra certainly does not cover one, ive owned the gm bra and sold it after the first trip, its junk. A bra worth having is a novistrech brand which many of us have here....and it does cover an aftermarket splitter.

For the carbon splitters if you don't have it clear bra covered, just use a black permanent marker to touch up the nicks/chips.

Been doing that for years on my ZR1 - works great.

I always recommend covering carbon fiber no matter where its at on the car. Its not as easy to refinish when it gets scratched or damaged. The front splitter sits very low so it pics up even more rocks when driving down the road.
