Default Sometimes things are just too simple

So, I have owned my 2014 AW vert (A6) for about six months now and like most here have absolutely loved the car. I drove it most of the time in "Tour" or "Eco" mode and for the most part, really liked the drive and how she handled. Of course I would have been just a bit happier if:

1. The steering was a wee bit firmer
2. The shifts came a little faster
3. She wouldn't bog down when I really nailed the gas
4. The exhaust sounded a littler "throatier"
5. The suspension felt a little, oh, I don't know "tighter"?

Then, just the other day, I thought "what the hell, let's try "Sport" mode..

Oh, my God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have fallen in love all over again! Items 1-5 FIXED!!!...

I just wish I would try new things a bit more often...

I'm confused. I thought there was no ECO mode on an A6.....

No, my A6 most certainly came equipped with "Eco" mode. The funny thing is the engine goes from V8 to V4 in "Tour" mode just as it does in "Eco" mode, so I am not really sure why the "Eco" mode is there to start with...

Here's something else "new" for you to try out - Track Mode.

On a smooth road it's even better than Sport Mode.

Seems most here on the forum operate in sport. Car really perks up when in track. Happy motoring!

As long as it's in D it will go into V4 in all modes. On p. 9-40 of the OM, there is a table that explains all the modes and what happens when in each.

Massive assumption here, this is not a Z51 with Mag Ride, going into Track mode or any other mode for that matter will have no effect on the suspension (ride) so a smooth road is not required.

If it is a Z51 with Mag Ride and it spent 6 months in Eco and Tour mode someone wasted almost $6K.

I know for sure I did NOT waste 60K. I may have wasted 6 months by not going to "Sport" mode sooner, but since I plan I having this car a long time, I am sure I'll make up for lost time soon...

You haven't wasted anything, other than the time it took to respond to that post.

Note that you can set the steering to be independent of the drive mode. If you like the feel of the steering response in Tour, Sport, or Track mode, you can set it to stay in that mode.
