Mirror tap for Blendmount on 2015 C7

It's the one on the roof. I tried a screwdriver at the clip locations. All it did was put scars in the edge of the trim and bend the plastic when I pried. I was concerned if I pried harder it would break the trim. I'm out of time today. If anyone can offer more advice, I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks.
Also, on the wiring harness where OP says push the tab on the drivers side to pull the halves apart, on my car the tabs are facing the front and rear of the car.
Yes I scarred the trim pieces, but they are trim pieces I didn't know existed before I did this and I have to hurt my neck to see them now. I am very happy again (as in the past) with the Blendmount in my Vette.
Thanks OP!

I do except if I park at the airport garage for several days or more. It's not hard to remove from the Blendmount. Also, I use the same detector on family trips in our other cars.

?..I bought a crimp style 9 pin D-Sub connector from Radio Shack, less than $3, The pins are the same length but considerably smaller than those on the invisicord. I had a black phone extension cord. Cut one end off the cord and stripped the protective covering back exposing the red, green, black and yellow wires and attached the D-sub pins to the green and red wires. Total cost less than $3. A little solder and heat shrink and it will appear the same as the invisicord or mirror tap.

Awesome... I've held out on wiring it up hoping that a solution would come along. Love the Mirror Tap in my GS, and don't really like the alternatives for the C7.
I'm presuming that the harness and covers are the same for the 2014, with the exception of the accommodations for the PDR? Has anyone confirmed yet?
I'll have to see if I can spend a little time this afternoon looking at the wife's Stingray, then order a Mirror Tap ASAP.
Thanks for taking the time to document and post this!!!

I am getting ready to mount a V1 and would like to do take power from the mirror if possible.
Thanks

I have the same question. Also is it feasible to take it off the mount every time you exit the car? I was thinking about storing it in the hidden compartment when I'm not in the car.

I generally remove it as smash and grabs happen all too often even in the nicest of areas. The valenine is very easy to remove. Don't know about the escort..

GPS reception 9500xi
I was wondering has anyone tried the Escort 9500xi on a standard body colored roof? I am curious if you are getting good GPS reception from the 9500xi and the blendmount.

I have the 9500ix with an exposed carbon fibre roof (shouyld be the same as painted) and have not had a problem with GPS reception at all. It works much better than in my GT500 where I would occasionally lose lock.

For those that have gone this route - tapped the mirror for power, how long have you ran with the power on? Curious if there are any issues with power consumption blowing a fuse after long continuous usage. I'd say not, as if there was, it would be posted here already. Great job with this solution Rx, saved many of us a lot of trouble!
