All season tires in Winter
Hi Guys,
Need advise about all season tires for my Corvette Z51
Since I'm not going to drive the car in the snowy days, I'm planing to go ahead with all season tires. Anyway I will drive my car in winter months (definitely in below 40F conditions) but I will drive it only when the roads are clean.
Do you guys think my choice OK?
By the way I live in Boston area.
Thanks you!!

My stock wheels are the 19/20 Z51 type with PP tires. I put some 18/19 winter wheels with the Michelin A/S 3's and love them so far. Plus they have a little more meat for potholes and such. The ride is better. I keep a stock front tire in the back and an air compressor since the AS/3's are not run flats.
I had A/S 3's on my old GT500 too and they were a big help. I feel more confident in cold weather now...
I will put my stock tires and wheels back on in the spring.

Continental DWS/AS are some of the best around for all weather driving. I'm ordering mine here shortly. Other people have made posts on the forums with fitting them up on the C7, and I actually had two sets on my C6, and have been able to drive through 5" of snow without issue

Another +1 on the A/S 3 s! Like you, I don't plan on any snow days in the Z51 but plenty of cold days below 30 degrees. Put these on a couple weeks ago and the ride and traction is great. Pulled 1G a couple of times before the rear broke loose slightly when temps were in mid 50s and tires were warm, not hot. The grip is much better than I expected. I'd highly recommend these tires.
Nice tread pattern
Right after the install before they got the shine

Use A/S Michelins
My DD is a CTS-V and put the A/S on initially just for the winter but they did so well kept them on all year. No they are not run flats. My C7 is in the garage for the winter. The A/S do fine in Pittsburgh weather.

I'm still on my OEM tires (2014 w/Z51 tires) and have driven it in temps as low as 22 degrees and didn't have any issues.
I'll drive all winter unless there is snow forecasted. But as soon as someone releases a Z51 sizes run flat A/S tire I'll be changing them out.

That's good to hear that you have been thru a winter already with no problems;I'm hoping by next winter there will be Z51 runflats A/S also. I've just learned to drive conservatively during the cold weather and keep checking my tires for cracks, especially sitting outside all the time.
