Default Skip Shift Eliminator

Can you put the same "Skip Shift Eliminator" made for a C6 on a 2014 C7 (Z51-7speed manual) ?

Apparently the C7 is just different enough that the C6 unit doesn't quite work.

As you can see you on the other post referenced above, there is a small projection inside the piece that can be cut off so that the C6 part will work on a C7. I did so on mine using an X-Acto knife and it worked fine.
