Switched mine out a few weeks ago and love them. Brakes feel great and dust is at a minimum.

Eric, I appreciate your feed back. The 1521 works as advertised

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

I've tried a few. None anywhere near as good as the Carbotechs.

I had a set of these sitting in the garage on my workbench while my car was coming down the assembly line. Best thing going to keep the wheels clean.

I had the same issue with my 2013 C6 GS. I purchased ceramic pads
( front only) from corvette mods. Had my local dealer install. The mechanic that installed the pads said he thought the new ceramic pads actually had better stopping power than the factory pads. cut brake dust by about 50%.

Thanks for offering to help.......actually you already have. I was the customer who had problem with the rear pads that did not fit snuggly in the caliper causing popping noises when applying and releasing the pedal. Upon return of the pads you gave a full refund. I appreciate your good customer service.

They're expensive. I'd also like to change (had ceramic on my C6) and I know I own a Corvette but I just don't see the value for the price. I can wash a lot of wheels for ~$400.

Adam- do I dare to ask how much a set of pads are for Z51? I'm anxious to rid myself of the excessive brake dust.

Have you tried the Armor All Wheel Protectant? $6.97 at Walmart. Makes the brake dust not stick to the wheels.

Armor All wheel proctectant works great if applied as directed. But I have noticed some brake squeal and figure it coats the rotor and transfers to the outer pads. However, no advisory on the can about that.

Before I put the 1521's in I would clean the wheels 3-4 times for every car wash. Now I wash the car 3-4 times before I do the wheels. I'm definitely not a waxer but I hated when within 50 miles the wheels looked like crap.

Just my $.02

Perfect. This is exactly what I needed to know. I absolutely hate washing wheels with the stock pads. Every 50 to 100 miles the wheels look like crap. Mother's wheel cleaner (the only thing that seems to work very well at disolving this dust) cost $8.00 a pop which adds another $8.00 of cost every 50 to 100 miles (more expensive than the gas that is burnt over that period) plus labor makes cleaning wheels on the C7 three times the cost of driving the car only counting the cost of the fuel.

Chevy: are you listening? I it so hard to believe that Chevy is saying that thousands of owners washing these wheels over and over and over and over is what they want their owners to be doing.

I stopped driving it so much in the 1st year because every trip meant I had to wash wheels again. It became a choice, take the Vette and wash the wheels again (OMG), or take the truck and be done. Sad when break dust is even a consideration of what to drive don't you think?

I just bought a pair of these 1521s. I will put them on this winter (car already in storage for winter) and test them in the spring. I sure hope you are right. I am going to take the stock pads out the range and put them at the end of the gun range and use them for 200 yard target practice with my armor piercing 50-cal shells. At least they will be good for something. then I can clean and frame them and hand them in the Vette garage for show and tell.

The 1521s say no track use. Hell, I never have it above 10 miles per hour over speed limit anyway. I have no burning desire to repeat my Bonneville days anymore. Even though the modes I made now require that I cap the speed control setting at 222 MPH. Yikes!

You could've gotten a base and saved yourself money and aggravation.

True, but if the "base" guys want to drive hard, they have to change the pads to something more aggressive don't they? Tomato Tomahto

It's my money. If I want what the Z51 offers "except" the brake pads, then what's the big deal? I changed to the 1521s and I'm happy as hell! Are you happy as hell too?
