Default Low dust break pads...does any one know where we can get them?

Where can we get low dust break pads for the C7? Never seen such dust come off a car before. Is there a low dust high performance pad anywhere?

I couldn't remember the number.

Huge reduction in brake dust and on the street they feel like the OEM pads.

Call me at 216-780-8825 to order. I offer the Carbotech 1521 compound big reduction in dust.

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

Nick, I've used the 1521 Bobcats for years, they are great, good initial bite and very low dust, no noise. They're also compatible with the
XP8,10,12 and so on track pads so you can switch back and forth no problem. John

Get ceramic pads. Any kind, anywhere. Changing out my pads as soon as I get my car. Note that ceramic pads are NOT as high-performance as the stock (Z51) pads, but are still very good and give off MUCH less powder.

Looked at the Carbotech web site and it said you must turn the rotors to install! Is that what everyone is doing, even with 4000 miles on the OEM Z51 pads?

Just clean the rotors with Brake Clean and a scotch brite pad and you're good to go. You definitely don't need to replace the rotors. I've been running the 1521's for years. Excellent braking and very rotor friendly.

Jerry, I appreciate your phone call. As we discussed the rotor does not need to be turned at 4,000 miles. Thank you for your business.

Note for you the 1521 pad will perform like stock if not better under thresh hold braking. The 1521 is ceramic based along with carbon and Kevlar. The 1521 is a true low dust performance street pad.

Easier said than done. Choices are VERY limited.

All ceramic pads are not made equal. I tried a set of AC Delco ceramics in my last vette. I hated everything about them and threw them in the trash after a couple hundred miles. The Carbotech 1521's do not feel or sound like a ceramic pad.

I ran GM ceramic pads with my Baer Eradispeed rotors and did not enjoy the feel of the brakes. I think the GM semi-metallic pads have a lot more bite and performance, although they do dust. Since I'm also running CCW polished wheels, I've learned to live with the dust and simply use my older California dash duster to wipe down the wheels after getting home. As a result the wheels still look new and I enjoy the soft, polishing effect of the semi-metallics on the rotors.

Well I guess that does it then. I have already talked with Adam and he gave me price. I guess I'm going to give him call and get a set sent out to me.

PM sent to you Adam.

Another endorsement for the 1521. Changed my Z51 to these after a few hundred miles. WAY less dust and I noticed no change in pad bite or stopping power. Other low dust ceramics I've tried in other performance cars gave up a lot in this area for less dust. Not so with the Carbotechs. Much more expensive than store brand ceramics but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

The 1521 is a unique pad compound that provides performance along with low dust. The 1521 is just not your basic ceramic pad.
