Default Less than 500 miles on my 2015, and I find this...

So I decided to detail my car over the weekend and took off my wheels and front bumper. I was then looking around my headlights and discovered this. It seems the factory over-tightened the brackets holding the headlights in place which caused the screws and brackets to break off with the fiberglass. The passenger side is completely broken off and the driver side has a huge crack. Since I purchased this car out of state, what should I do? Thankfully it's not a crucial piece that will leave the headlights loose. Still, I'm very disappointed with this discovery.

Wow. That's some detail job to remove the front bumper. I think any dealership should be able to cover the warranty regardless of where you purchased it. Were the light buckets rattling or moving in any way prior to you removing the front fascia?

Warranty should cover it. Doesn't matter where you bought it. You might get questioned about whether you broke them removing the bumper cover.

Who removes the bumper cover to detail a brand new car???

I just heard about this earlier this week, it seems that it might be common?

I just bought a Z06 grill for my car, I hope I don't find the same thing!

Would you have noticed it if you had not removed your Head lights?

Looks like the hood vent and front fender vents are out also. Wow!!!

I'll bet you can't take the entire car apart - prove me wrong!

Good find !

I guess this shows what being owned by the Government and controlled by Obama does to an otherwise formerly great American company.

Warranty covers the car at any dealer regardless of where you buy it. Personally I'd get some good epoxy and do it myself.

The PR&C (politics, religion & controversy) sub forum on Corvette Forum is a good place to air political views.

To be honest, I was half curious to see if there were any damages or factory installation problems so I told myself I needed to "detail" my car. I bought the car out of state and I have read threads like the one above where brackets were broken from poor installation.

The headlights will still be locked in place with three other screws but it was painful to see a bit of the fiberglass broken off.

So, just the other day I was detailing my Volkswagen and I noticed one of the bolts was partially stripped. I am pretty upset about it....

That's too funny. Wait I see a crack in a little piece over on the right--no, no, further and down. There that's it.
