ZO6 slower than GTR

Melting Slicks
Even if the GTR were faster on the track it would be for other reasons than engine. The Z06 has more HP and a great deal more torque.
While I haven’t driven either, one might suspect that the Z06 is a more responsive vehicle in day to day use. Don

I think the GT-R is a beast, but so is the Z06 and I'd take the Z06 any day.

These are road course weapons and on a road course the stock Z51 already beats the GTR track edition so as Snordman says, this thread is BS.

I think someone mistook for the modded GTR's RA time (1:24.7). That was a Forged Performance tuned FP800 Nissan GT-R wearing Hoosier R100 slicks. Definitely not stock...

I do find it amusing though how so many guys here can brush it off when a competing car is faster. Why are you buying a sport car if sport is not important? I guess looking cool is all that is really matters.

Safety Car
Who posted a lap time in a bone stock GT-R faster than the :29-:30 laps obtained by Probst and Pilgrim in a stock Z06?
Leh Keen ran a :30.7 in the 800 hp TSM One Lap car on PSS's and a :23 on slicks. The Catesby/Forged FP800 car went a :29.9 on street tires. The NARRA TT-2 track record is a :29.2 in a GT-R.
If you are going to make ridiculous claims like this, then post a link to a stock GT-R running :28 or faster at Road A. Heck, Probst was on the pole with a :26 in his K-Pax Porsche race car.

I was about to say. No stock car has ran a time faster than the new Z at RoadATL!

You also don't know that the ZR1 would win in a 1/2 or mile race against a Stage 1 aero car. In fact, my money would still be on the Z07 at 1/2 mile considering the advantage in the 1/4 mile.
But go on, I'm sure you'll come back with some stupid comment about "on the roll downs" or "top speed the ZR1 is still the king" or something equally silly.

You don't know this. Nowhere in any of those tests did I see them comment about traction issues with the A8's. But I can tell you this...me in my GT-R and you in your ZR1 (that you ran 11.8 in with Michelin PSS's) and you'll lose every single time.

or the 11.52 I did the next week but seeing how my best 60ft was only 2.146 I still ran 128.35
using 1/4 -1/2 the gas pedal through 2 gears. It doesn't put the power down well kinda like a Shelby.
But 50 mph roll runs it's pretty fast and no trouble eating a stock GTR!
You don't know this either! I was going by the "tests" made and the
0-150 is poor!
There you go racing the automatic's again! Don't think your GTR can beat fart pipes ZR1 time 10.32!
PLUS just because the ZR1 will pull a GTR at speed doesn't make it silly!

Disappointed in the Z06 being second behind? No
Disappointed I logged back in before I started to watch Chicago Fire and wasted time reading a thread about how the fugly-GT-R happens to be a blip faster than the drop dead gorgeous C7 Z06 on any given day? Yes

Wasn't 11.8 either you seem to round your times down and push other's times up! Not that 11.64 is good

I ran 11.3 in a bone stock GT500 on stock Goodyears at Orlando Speedworld, lol. You can't even run that in a ZR1 on a Michelin PSS.
BTW...what do you have to say now that two other C7's are faster than me on the Fast List? One is an A6 and one is an A8. So much for your claim that my car was a freak and the times would never be duplicated, huh? Wrong once again.

Drifting
Here is my opinion.....
1) There will always be a faster car. If it's not the GTR, then it will be something else definitely way over my budget.
2) I respect the GTR. It has great numbers. I think I would like driving one. However, numbers aren't everything. I like the C7 styling much better. If I want great track numbers, I'd buy a dedicated track car.
3) the C7 has a naturally aspirated V8 and weighs a lot less. I think that helps deliver a more enjoyable drive out on the country roads where I drive.
