ZO6 slower than GTR
So the numbers are in on the ZO6 at Atlanta and the lap time posted by Probst is slower than the GTR, by a full second.
Disappointed?

Nope, different driver, weather conditions, can easily cost seconds........... guess you can buy the GTR leaves one more C7 for a buyer who wants one.

only matters if all you care about is what a professional driver did on a track as opposed to you driving the car on a day to day basis

I would be disappointed if I had to look at a GTR everyday.

Here is my opinion.....
1) There will always be a faster car. If it's not the GTR, then it will be something else definitely way over my budget.
2) I respect the GTR. It has great numbers. I think I would like driving one. However, numbers aren't everything. I like the C7 styling much better. If I want great track numbers, I'd buy a dedicated track car.
3) the C7 has a naturally aspirated V8 and weighs a lot less. I think that helps deliver a more enjoyable drive out on the country roads where I drive.

The ZO6 combines sexiness with raw power. The GT-R doesn't have that. So it doesn't matter that it's faster. The ZO6 has both.

Scraping the splitter.
Leh Keen ran a :30.7 in the 800 hp TSM One Lap car on PSS's and a :23 on slicks. The Catesby/Forged FP800 car went a :29.9 on street tires. The NARRA TT-2 track record is a :29.2 in a GT-R.
If you are going to make ridiculous claims like this, then post a link to a stock GT-R running :28 or faster at Road A. Heck, Probst was on the pole with a :26 in his K-Pax Porsche race car.

Who posted a lap time in a bone stock GT-R faster than the :29-:30 laps obtained by Probst and Pilgrim in a stock Z06?

I have yet to see a published lap time for a stock GTR at Road Atlanta.

Hell, last September a Z51 lapped willow faster than a GT-R track edition. The Z06 will embarass a stock GT-R in a side by side test.
Notice NONE, not a single reviewer mentions the GT-R. They do mention Porsche, McLaren and Ferarri.
