Default Crack in windshield...

Has anyone had their windshield replaced on their C7? Thanks to my local detailer, my windshield has a 10 inch crack in it after they washed, clay barred and waxed mine today. Of course, when I saw it they denied any wrongdoing so I blasted them and left, never to return. PS....it's Classic Car Spa in Chandler, AZ and they suck. I included a picture. Hard to see the crack but it's there. If anyone has any words of advice on replacing the windshield please let me know. I know there are a lot of wires in the mirror, not to mention the HUD to worry about. I'm having it replaced tomorrow and thanks to full glass coverage my $1,036 windshield will cost me nothing.

Damn that sucks!

Sorry about your windshield

I would miss no opportunities to spread the word - cost those azzholes more than a new windshield would have ever cost them...

That sucks, luckly your insurance covered it.

Does the crack show any impact marks? Wonder how they could have done that.

There is a chip at the top of the crack...wasn't there when I brought the car in this morning. Dumb *** me forgot to check my mileage when I dropped the car off so I can't tell if someone took it for a joy ride or not....arghhh....

The HUD takes a special windshield, make sure the one they are going to replace yours with will be for the HUD. A regular windshield will not show the HUD very well especially on a sunny day.

Did you leave the car in valet mode when you left it with the dealer? If so, you could have evidence that they damaged the windscreen. If not, well you know.

Yes, I asked that question specifically. It will be a HUD windshield.

I'd make sure you are getting a genuine GM windshield, not a substitute.

Wow that really sucks.

I will be checking my glass coverage tomorrow. Already got a rock hit on one of the hood louvers on mine. I was on the freeway and heard it but didn't realize where it hit till my friend pointed it out a few days later. Took a small chunk of the carbon flash off right at the tip. Could have been the windshield.

I'm avoiding the freeways around here as much as possible until I get the plastic protect on it. Seems like there are more rocks and trash here than in my other residence in WA. Guess we get more rain to wash the stuff off up there.

Who is replacing your windshield?

Got a crack in mine with only 462 Miles. Had it replaced with no problems. The glass company did a great and careful job. Good luck

I had mine replaced. I had a chip due do the way I got the crack: I dropped the removable roof when taking it off (it was hot). Only dropped an inch or so, but caught the edge of the windshield and immediately cracked. All right before I was heading to Monterey car week. An ordeal.

But the new windshield is fine, even thought it's only AGC replacement glass and not GM-stamped.

You'll be fine.

Mine has a few also, never had this problem in the C6. Maybe the non GM replacement would hold up better??
