Did the same - not at the dealer but at my house 170 miles away.

I wish I got to unwrap mine. They actually gave me the wrapping, but after a while, I threw it away.

Hey, I understand. My wife wants me to throw the wrapper away but it's the first mating.

I would have loved doing that. Dealer had her ready to go for me when I arrived. I like the fact that the factory wraps them for transport!

Mine was on showroom floor but the dealer had kept the wrap and gave it to me. I'll keep it somewhere as I'm pretty **** about keeping my cars original and the wrap is part of that.

I was able to unwrap mine September 23rd, 2013. Back then a big issue on the Forum was whether owners would be allowed to keep the cover or if it had to be returned to be re-used . A bulletin was sent out to dealers instructing them to hold on to the cover for the owner. I kept mine for about a year, finally tossed it.

Got to do mine last night. Tom at Bud's jumped through some hoops and held off until I got there. First-class operation. Brought it home today.

I could have but elected to let the dealer do the prep work. The dealer is compensated by GM to prep the car and if something was damaged there wouldn't be a hassle. Insurance companies are always looking for a way to not pay a claim.
