Talk Me Out Of A Z51

I wanted the toys of Z51 and 2LT. I much prefer having the option to something on or off rather than not having the option because I never ordered it. The 3LT was pure interior for me and that was easy for me to pass up.
I will really like the PDR - not for performance so much as a GoPro thing. Too many jerks on the road where a forward-looking camera would be aa benefit. I find that in my Nissan Pathfinder. I can't help but think the jerk rate will increase exponentially once I have the C7. But I digress.

I have the same quandry, almost.
Mine is: 2LT Z51 vs. 3LT Base
I've outruled the ZF1 package on the base because it basically brings the cost so close to the Z51, why not just get the Z51 instead. Especially if you end up going with any wheel upgrade over the painted silver.
On the flip side, the reviews on the 3LT interior make me lean towards that instead. I don't imagine I'd be going to the track. But one of my thoughts is that if I ever am able to pull the trigger on a C7, I'd want to definitely go take the Performance Driving class, which in turn would most likely hook me into the idea of driving in small race events, which then leans me back toward the Z51.
Confused? I know I am! LOL

I went with 1LT Z51 MRC. Put my money into how the car drives instead of interior features. I'm not a big leather interior fan to start with, so I don't miss any of the upholstery upgrades. The HUD is cool, but when it came down to an A/B choice, I thought the Z51 wheels, brakes, magnetic ride control, and e-diff, MRC, were a better use of my money.
For me, Z51 was a no-brainer on the 2014's before the price increase and before the ZF1 package on the 2015.
Looking at the new pricing and configuration, I think it boils down to if you want MRC and NPP or not.
If you don't want MRC or NPP, but just want the Z51 wheels and spoiler, then just get the ZF1.
If you want NPP, the price difference ZF1 (1995) + NPP (1195) and Z51 (5000) is only $1810 to get the dry-sump oil system, bigger front brakes with slotted rotors, e-limited slip differential, differential cooler, and stiffer suspension.

Glad Dave chimed in since there are a number of dealers who will take GMS, but not on cars with the Z51 package. If price isn't an issue and you can get GMS, you can't go wrong with a 2LT car with Z51 and Mag ride. It seems to be the most popular optioned car.

No Z51 for me, track use is the only time you will see a penny's worth of extra enjoyment for all the extra money it costs. Bigger tires, bigger brakes, etc. will not be of any benefit since the stock parts are awesome as they are for all aspects of street driving.

Ive had the Z51 on previous vettes. the best rider was the 427. Now I have a 15 C7 with 2LT, and NPP exhaust. Its ride is very good and not harsh. Don't waste the money if your not going to track and enjoy the extra features that the 2LT provides. Tires cheaper to replace, no dry sump and the ride is better.

You make a very good point.
It does come down to personal taste, priorities, and to some money.
If you went with Z51 I would think that msrc should then be added, and now another $1795. Not saying you have to, but I would add it.
So now it's $1810 + $1795 for some items that can be questionable for their worth?
All comes down to taste/preferences, no wrong answers.
Myself, I'd like to go 3LT but that nav price pisses me off so much I might stick with 2LT/ZF1?
Good luck OP.

I built the car a couple more times on the website and basically it boils down to 3500ish bucks for the 2LT vs 1LT. I don' t think I will use the HUD very often, and I don't care much about the garage door thing or the mirrors or the memory package. The only thing I would really want is the seats but from what I understand they leave a little to be desired.
Doesn't sound like its worth over 3k to me, and going non-z51 is looking much less appealing because I would have to add back in the wheels and exhaust and stuff and it makes it only 3k more to do the z51 and MRC.
As it stands I am set on white auto 1LT Z51 MRC black wheels.

Z-51
So I have been C7 shopping for a couple weeks now, and all along I had it in my head that I wanted a Z51. I just looked at not getting a Z51 like getting 6 cyl Camaro or something, like it wouldn't be the same without it.
I know some people say it's only for track use and other say it has benefits on the street. But after doing some research I am wonder, maybe I should go 2LT instead of Z51 1LT.
Looking for advice from people that actually own them, what do you guys think? No the dry sump/oiling issue doesn't scare me.

Have you driven both the z51 and non z51? You might decide you're fine with the non z51 if you drove it!

I started out to get a 1lt base. Ended up with 3lt base. Pretty sure I'd be every bit as happy had I stayed with the 1lt. Just trying to save you some money.
Seriously, I don't care about the HUD, set the auto seats to "Off", never mess with the lumbar or any other settings on the seat, don't use the NAV, never used the heated seats in my c6 in 8 1/2 yrs so doubt I need them now, the vented seats on the c7 aren't worth a darn. And you can add the homelink visor to any of the c7s as the wiring is there.
See?! I could have saved alot of money!
ps My must haves for the c7 were an m7 and NPP, and I was moving from a z51 c6.
