Talk Me Out Of A Z51
So I have been C7 shopping for a couple weeks now, and all along I had it in my head that I wanted a Z51. I just looked at not getting a Z51 like getting 6 cyl Camaro or something, like it wouldn't be the same without it.
I know some people say it's only for track use and other say it has benefits on the street. But after doing some research I am wonder, maybe I should go 2LT instead of Z51 1LT.
Looking for advice from people that actually own them, what do you guys think? No the dry sump/oiling issue doesn't scare me.

I went with a 1LT Z51 with Mag Ride. I didn't need any of the 2LT gadgets. The Z51 spoiler and wheels were a must for me appearance wise and also the NPP. Mag ride was also a big factor as you can't get it without the Z51. In the long run I think a Z51 1LT will also keep better value for resale than a non Z51 2LT. Just the combination of being able to adjust the exhaust valves and suspension setting with the twist of a **** is truly awesome.

I own a Z51, 2LT coupe. Manual transmission. Couldn't be happier. Don't track the car and never will. No MRSC for me - not needed. I'd get what you want - you'll be happier in the long run.

Have the Z51 2LT. Would not be without the exhaust note, I missed it in my C6 and vowed I'd always have performance exhausts from then on. Can't beat that growl!
Have to say I do not miss the Mag ride, had it on my C6 but chose not to order it in the C7.
To each their own !
Decisions, but at least they ARE decisions....what to do, what to do?!!

I should have added my must-haves. I must have the NPP, and I really really would want the Z51 wheels.
Does anyone know what all comes with the 2LT over 1LT?

I think the ZF1 option is best for you. You will have the Z51 look with the wheels and rear spoiler. 2LT has a 10 speaker Bose stereo, HUD, memory pkg, auto dimming mirrors, Homelink garage opener and adjustable cooled and heated seats with adjustment for lumbar, etc.

I opted for the 1LT w/o the Z51 and it's more car than I'll ever need or use. Opted for better wheels and some extra "gingerbread" to dress the car. You can always add a spoiler if you like the look.
I'd put the extra cash you save towards insurance or an extended warranty down the road. Or your next set of run-flats.
Just my perspective.

Up until March 3rd of this year, the Z51 option was a no brainer. GM underpriced it badly IMHO. With the March 3rd price increase on both the base ad Z51 option, it's a more difficult financial decision. Personally, I still think it's worth it. Even though I won't track the car, I do love to bend it hard on the mountain/country roads around us. When doing the math, the NPP is now part of the Z51 package and not an $1,100 add on option.
For me and my intended uses of the car, Z51 with Mag Ride was a no brainer. I did manage to order mine before the 3/3/2104 price increase.
Whatever you decide - base or Z51 - you're still getting a great car.

I might just order that. Is there any hold or anything on these? How long would it take for a car that I ordered now?

I have the Z51 with mag ride and NPP and 7M, will never track the car, but wanted the most C7 Corvette I could get and at the time (I've had mine for 14 months) that was it. No regrets. Love the car and everything about it. I also got the 3LT package because I wanted leather everywhere. Cost more, but I figure I'll have a the for a good long time so it was worth it.

True that would probably work, but if the dealer can honor the price shown on the GMS website then it is right at the number I want to pay and its a Z51 2LT WITH MSR. If I can get that, I'm in.

Z51 has pretty much always been at about 50% but the demand isn't what it once was so it shouldn't be too much of a problem depending on your dealer. Be very, very sure they have allocations. Some less honest dealers have strung people along with very little hope of getting an order in.
If your dealer doesn't have enough allocations or won't honor the GMS, then order from a large forum dealer. You can get a courtesy delivery, get it shipped from the dealership or pick it up.

Try messaging Ken Fitchner, Mike Furman, Kerbeck, or any of the other higher volume dealers on here and they'll likely be very straightforward with you about their allocations.
