Default How to install roof

You guys may already know this but I found it difficult to put my roof on without having to walk around the car and make sure that it seated correctly with molding. For whatever reason every time I put the roof on from either side of the car, there was always a little piece of the rubber that was sticking out. I never had this problem with c6. However, I never thought to do the install from inside car. Also my rubber grommets or liners that go inside the rear holes were coming out. Anyway here is a youtube link that I found helpful.

I tend to keep my hands on either side of it toward the middle when putting it in and it helps tremendously. The first couple times I tried it, I had some issues but it's since gotten quite a bit easier

Yeah, when I saw him grab the levers and jerk it back my .5watt bulb went off in my head! It just never dawned on me to do it from the inside.

Thanx for posting this! Some of us challenged folk would have never thought of adjusting and latching from the inside...

Still the issue of the crimped weather strip is not addressed as it will end up protruding if not carefully pushed in on each side. Maybe this is just a 14 issue?

Nope, used to happen on my '15 too. Just takes practice to get it straight.

Great! Thanks for posting. Wish my C4 top went on that easily; takes a special wrench to do it and some rubber almost ALWAYS gets extruded somewhere

I'm 5' 1" and don't have that dude's looooooong arms!! I have to open the door and stand on the sill while removing and replacing the top. Using both front handles to slide the top into place is impossible for me. I also put the top in the rear from the side, then go around to the back to slide it fully into the brackets and lock into place. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

The video did not show it but I bet he rested the roof on his foot in order to get a good hold so he could move the roof around. I do that sometimes.
