Default My C6 just robbed me

Since I have a new Stingray coming I am trying to not spend any more money on my C6. Last Sunday was perfect weather and the wife and I went for a cruise. Hit a huge pot hole and destroyed the right front tire, cracked the wheel, knocked out the alignment. About $1000 out of the budget for the new Corvette. Man what a drag, guess the wife won't get anything for Christmas this year

Sorry to hear about the damage to the C6 and I'm sure the wife will understand not getting a gift this Christmas.

It obviously wants you to keep it and have 2 Corvettes.

If an unexpected $1000 expense makes a difference in your budget, you've got no business buying a $70K toy.

Yep, just what we need, another wise guy rookie on the forum.

rcooper, it never fails, right? I'm in the middle of a $200+ event... lost one of my C7 keys!

It is however a valid response. These type of things will always happen and you will always have unexpected expenses. If you're driving a 70k car and a 1000 dollar repair has any effect on your wife's Xmas present your in way over your head and need to start looking at Civics.

It's just a guess, but I'm betting that the OP didn't intend for everything in his initial post to be taken 100% literally.

I really don't think the OP meant his response to be taken literally.

OP was making a joke, and a pretty funny one at that.

How about your wife paying the C6 repair bill as Her gift to YOU?

Sorry to hear about the damage. I don't have my C7 on order (yet) but I am in shopping mode as I plan to add and not replace. My C5 vert just took a huge rock chip to the windshield so I now have that repair project added to the holiday schedule.

same thing happened to me, fixed it for less than half $1000, and the wife still got new pots and vacuum cleaner.

It could have been worse... It could have happened to your new C7 instead. In fact it might still happen.

Maybe his wife could give him a gift certificate for some driving lessons before the C7 arrives.
